You called.
General comment: Either start lining your work harder or with ink, or mess around more when you scan/photograph them, so the drawings aren't so pale and semi invisible. It's hard to comment on something you can barely see, besides the "Well, I can't see that one, but I am sure it's nice looking... or something..." generics.
1. It seems like an interesting concept, but I don't think you presented it as well as you could. The anatomy is flawed somehow, and the texture is weak for what you are trying to convey. It's still an amusing idea, and if you would like to remake it at some point, I am sure it is going to be a strong piece of horror and fire. Goof strong colours would do it well at that point.
It is also a huge plus the face is as pronounced as it is, good job on that.
2. Reminds me of the crying angels. This is one of those drawings that would do really well in black/white, with hard shadows and glowing eyes. The pose might need a little fixing, either that or the light, so the shadows form and uniform edge against the light. It gives a nice (unintended?) contrast to the firedude above it, as the poses are quite opposite each other, and they might find a good spot somewhere next to each other, especially if you decide for bright, strong colours for the fire, and pastels and black shadows for Dionysus.
3. That is a neat design, and with a background putting it into a setting, it would be a piece of nightmare to many. The consistency of the design isn't all well, however, there are some weak points, but considering these are school sketches, I can't blame you for not considering those weaknesses. The weakest point is probably the overall pose, while the torso is one of the strongest points along with the head and the bladed arm.
4. I assume some poor professor found a page from the Necronomicon, and as his friends are being devoured, he is greatly regretting that life choice.
A bit light to fully appreciate it, but the pose is steady and sound, the concept and presentation are both forceful and well done, and I think my only point of improval would be the mouth on the poor guy.
5. Strong piece, well presented, good idea. I have nothing to put a finger on at all, well done. Would like to see it lined and finished, if anything, but this is probably one of the best of your current uploads. It looks whole and finished, even without hard outline our colours.
Thumbs up.
6. Pose is alright, but not well executed, and the face/head could do some work. Anatomy and consistency would make this a better piece, since there is nothing wrong with the concept and, as mentioned, the pose is solid. Again, you can't be blamed for not being stable in the field of anatomy, when you are doodling in class, but this would be one of those you should consider remaking with proper references, should you feel the urge to, even more so than the top two sketches. It would underline the brutality and power behind Cain, and would be cut well for an action scene.
So, you have now been visited by the critique goblin, I hope it was worth the advertising in the ASC.
Which reminds me, I did enjoy that design for the ASC, it looked amusing and it would have been nice with a more - finished version (which I think you would be able to go far with in the judging). Only annoying point is the smaller of the hands, it looks ill fitting for such a huge creature, even if it is supposed to be unnatural. Consistency does make for a smoother result.
Yup.
