Ice isn't actually as bad as others are saying (Refuting the top comment I mean). The problem is that a lot of ice's power was dependent on the 5th point of that comment, which is to upgrade ice rune to the max. But you only get 10 upgrades until you unlock endless mode, then you can get the rest. So it's really useful for endless mode but it doesn't explain real well what to do before you are able to completely upgrade ice.

I actually beat the game (Mostly) by using Dragonfall (5th fire arcane spell). With max Arcane Mastery, Arcane Surge and using Gobuffs Kinetic Charm, Arcane Charm and Trance Charm, Dragonfall is practically permanent, all you have to do is switch to fire to refresh it (It grants 35 fireballs) and then switch to ice or lightning for the immune fire tree stump and just watch a fiery death rain down upon everything else XD. Pyro Pengu is also helpful (He was useful for the final boss) and fire sigil helps for those fast/weak ground units, especially the bomb holders.

Also, I farmed a lot of my early gold on stage 9, I was getting anywhere from 1500-2500 on that stage. Magimug Gobuff helps for early gold.

The link from the actual game doesn't link to this page.

I actually didn't read the strategy, but I did use ice exclusively until getting to the area with a lot of undead, which are very resistant to ice. Then, the best strategy is to put an Ice Collector up (slaughters the bone walls), and use Fire, putting out a couple of the #2 consistent fire spots (I forget the name). In the final area when you finally have Lightning fully upgraded you switch between Ice and Lightning because a #2 Lightning spell makes Knights drop their shields.

Went through the whole game easily with that strategy, I think I only failed on like 3 stages total, and didn't take more than 3 tries to beat any of those. Beat the final boss first time I got to him.

Early game, Lightning is almost totally useless because of how inaccurate it is without 5 points in precision, and Fire simply shoots too slowly to be very effective and is only useful against enemies resistant to Ice. Late game, Ice is simply unbelievably better than the other two magics simply because the +1 damage upgrade is effectively a +9 damage upgrade for Ice, and Lightning is really only useful for clearing big packs of the knights.

Came back to finish the game, and used primarily ice again, but this time using the fire pengu continuously, and using the #2 lightning spell every now and then to clear knights and packs. Sailed through those last few levels, and squeaked by in the last one.

I liked this game fine, but this last badge is kind of boring and grindey. One complaint I have against the game is that the rune upgrades are stingy -- by the time you can upgrade them beyond 10, it's not as necessary, and by the time you get that $1M achievement, your only remaining goal is to grind through levels to get as high as you can to get gold to buy all the upgrades ......

The last quest is grindy but it's actually not as much grind as you'd initially think. In the endless battle you get 100k+ gold for each boss monster you kill. Personally, the last trophy I needed was 10k kills and I had like 6.8k by the time it was the only one left. Grindy yes but not *super absurd* like Clicker Heroes or something.

How do you see your total amount of kills? I have no idea how far I am away from that last 10K quest ....

From the Lucrea tech menu, click the green exclamation mark next to "Lucrea's World Domination Gameplan". Shows your sexy stats XD, including total kills.

Thanks! That's not just a weird punctuation mark, then .....

I'm at 9,749, so I guess one more run at the tower.

Still grindey, but I've had worse.

in my opinion, decision medieval farm for max level in all armor and weapons is far more boring than the vanquiser trophy. In witch hunt the grind is not monotonous as it is in the decision because you have to constantly think what are you going to do in each situation and you have a lot of options to deal with the monsters

Oh, I agree -- many games have a lot more time of grinding than this game does. However, there is a noticeable grinding element here; I'm just against grinding in general. A quest that requires only repeated playing is a weak quest.

@ddevil6: You need to have the sound on to hear the Greedling's laugh when he charges the purple beam attack. There's no visual indicator. It's kind of hard to hear, so I just stop firing any time he charges the magic attack since the battle is short and winning just makes it longer than it needs to be with cutscenes and credits to skip.
