Rock, alternative rock, nu metal, and alternative are my favorites. It can range from really quiet to extremely loud in just a song flawlessly.

hip hop

I like kind of heavy alternative music with skilled guitar players and a singer who can actually sing, and some metal if it doesn't have too much screaming.

Alternative rock, indie rock, some reggae and ska, hard rock, soft rock, classic rock, and some nu-metal. (No Slipknot, though. They suck.) I also like some glam rock and space rock.
