Let's hear the most terrifying thing that ever happened to you. Here's mine, it's a bit gruesome, so it's definitely not for the faint of heart.
So, this happened around a year ago, and I can still remember it vividly. I was at home, sick, while the rest of my family was grocery shopping. I started to feel a bit better, and got up to go play with my cat, because she seemed a bit worried about me. So I found her little toy on the string, and started playing. Y'know, that game where the cat tries to snag the toy, but pull it up just in time? Well I was playing that game, and then swung my arm up too fast and high. Above my head was a ceiling fan, the type with the glass light on the bottom. The glass they used for that light is at least an inch and a half thick. Anyways, my hand hit the glass, and I heard shattering glass. My cat ran away, but I bent down on one knee and covered the back of my head with my hands. As pieces of glass fell all around me, I suddenly felt an incredibly sharp pain in my hand. I got up, and looked at my hand, to see a piece of glass had impaled it right through. I limped (another piece of glass had gone loosely into my leg, but fell out.) to the sink, pulled the piece of glass out of my hand, turned on the cold water, put my hand under it, and proceeded to go unconscious. My family came home to see broken glass and a trail all over the room, the tap running on high, and me, showing no signs of life, with a cut leg and a hole in my hand. I obviously scared them badly, but I came to pretty quickly. The scary part of this incident, was the fact I put my hands over the part of the head, at the back, where theres a little soft spot, between the neck and skull. If I hadn't had the presence of mind to do that, my family would've come home to an even worse story.
That's the scariest thing that ever happened to me.
My scariest experience was when i had a dream of a white dog that kept trying to chase me i kept running away and away but it always came back i always had this dream for a few days but now it's gone...
I was taking a dump, and a big @ss spider crawls right near my foot and it swalking around and stuff, and scaring the hell outta me.
And, what are you supposed to do...i mean, you are basically immobile. Anyways, it crawled onto my foot and i freaked out and stabbed it with a knife (which i am not sure why that was in the bathroom).
Woah knife in a bathroom... Have you ever considered that you secretly committed murder in your own bathroom and flushed the body down the toilet and that the spider was a sign that you just killed hehehe
for me it was like almost the same thing I was home alone sick and I heard a knock on the door. So I went and looked in the peephole and I didnt see anyone there. so I came back then I heard someone bang on the door...hard. so I went and checked again. Still no one was there so I went back to the bedroom and all of a sudden the door opens and I was real tired so I couldnt see very well and I went into my bedroom and locked the door...then I heard my dad say what are you doing? so I figured out it was him who opened the door...stupid right?
I was walking the night streets of Kabul Afghanistan on a mission that I can't talk about. With me, were only 3 others and a local. I wore unmarked civilian clothing I got from a Chinese store, no body armor, and only a 9mm with 30 rounds. The others had the same. There are a lot of English business people in the area so we only stood out like a sore finger :P Trash filled the gutters. The streets were open and my eyes darted to every movement in the shadows. We made it to the building we were headed to. After much arguing with the security there, we had to give up our ammo, as we refused to give up our weapons. So I gave up 15 rounds, the other clip in my cellphone holder in my jacket, hoping they wouldn't notice. Thankfully there was no incident, but I now know a few world leaders. We made contact with our pick up. On the way back to the fire base, we were still unmarked and our local driver took the wrong approach. All of a sudden I hear a M60 fire off a burst. It was a warning shot. The road was closed off and the guards didn't like us driving at them. We pull a U turn and come in from the open entrance. We make it about 100 feet in and I get rocked to the ground. A car bomb went off at the gate we just entered. A week later I took a flight back to HQ. I hear the press said it was an attempt on VP Chaney's life.
This is a very vague memory of mine. This happened 4 years ago. This was back when I was in Dominican Military. I was with my sqaud, and we were patrolling the Haitian countryside. The whole hillside we were looking at looked deserted, and we were on Motorbikes.
As we drove along, we saw this small barn, that was charked a bit, and we entered it, with our rfiles at hand. We used HK's 20s back then. We entered inside, and it was dark, but there was a really bad smell. If you have ever smelled rotten eggs, and smelled rotting fish, then you know what I am speaking of. I looked around, but I heard a creaking behind the door of this one other room. There was 3 rooms in that barn. One of the doors was torn down from it, it was all cracked. We kept hearing a shuffling noise. but we slowly opened the second door, which all the rooms were in a triangler shape across from each other. It was locked, so I rammed my rifle butt into the door. We entered it. Then I saw a little girl, and she was crying. it was dark, and we couldnt see her correctly, but we dimmed a light on her, rifles at hand. half of her face... was torn. The jawline muscles were rimming, and she had dried blood all over her, and she was crying and screaming. We immeditialy got her some water and we got cloth over her left jaw, which was torn open. She kept murmering about ropes, and when we walked her outside, she pointed at the last door, as if she had seen a ghost. I turned around, and I knocked on the door, and I heard if there was any shuffling. I heard a small creaking, and I burst through the door. I found out what made the creaking. There was 3 men, and one woman... all of them were tied by their hands. They were hanging by the rope, fro ma wooden beam on the roof of the room, and they were hanging. Their bodies were burnt heavily, and part of their feet were missing. I saw their eyeballs as well. They hang by their cords, and the faces were obscured, and charced. I found out whoever did this left them there, but I found the feet later on. They had bitemarks on them, as if made by human teeth. When we drove the girl back to our camp, to get some medical aid, and a general chceckup later, as the paramedic was ehecking her jaw, he saw her teeth. They had bits of skin, and some of them were cracked. Later.. we contacted a local farmer nearby. He said some men always dragged the surrounding villagers, and he had been in hiding for months in his cellar. The stench of that whole barn was terrible, It still lingers with me and I still remember those faces, choked by death, The girl was exceptionally cold when I went to check her forehead. the whole ordeal was terrifying, but I dont know if it was the scariest. Back then I was a recruit, I was just barely a corpral, and those faces still stick with me. The people who did this were trying to sqeeuze information on where our patrols searched, but They never knew it found out, and they were burned to death. The girl was locked inside the barn, and she only survived by drinking the dirty water from the old animal barrows She didnt have any food. The men locked her in there to starve, but she managed to feed on some of the corpses, and that girl, afterwards she always talked to herself. She never ever looked at a person. She only talked to me the entire time, and I couldnt understand half of what she was saying. But that was the best I could decipher out of it. Later on, I would have much worse experiences then this, But I was used to it by then. I was only 22 back then.
That was my scariest experience. I honestly have never belived up until that point that I would ever see so much creulty. I wish I never have.
One time, I was mowing m lawn. I made a small turn going down hill and the back end slid around on me. I thought that the mower was going to flip over. If my hill was larger, it may have flipped, but it didn't. Ive been freaked out when i mow ever since when mowing that hill.
