CoD 5 was starting to be created, I think, just before CoD 4 was released, so the developers would never have known that setting the era to now was going to be such a hit.
hope it will go to world war 1. no games have done that yet.
I see what you are saying, but since warfare was no where near like it is today, unless someone has a breakthrough idea, many people may not enjoy running backwards and forwards into trenches.
Can't you be content with COD 5 for at least a week? Why must we always be thinking about new versions of things? COD5 was just released yesterday, who cares if there will be a COD6 yet.
Can't you guys just be content with the new one? Hell, I'm still playing the very first Call of Duty.
WWI would be interesting, but it would be hard to do. Warfare 1917 perfectly illustrated what WWI was like: staying in the trenches and blasting away with artillery.
I don't really see why Treyarch gets all the bad press either. They tend to be more creative than Infinity Ward when it comes to game mechanics, but IW does all the graphical enhancement/ultimate changes.
Yes, there will be CoD 6 and CoD 7 and so on forever untill the masses finally realise that WW2 was not that great. Untill then, I hope that Activision explores at least new parts of WW2, like they did with #5. First shooter I've seen that puts China against Russia.
@Parsat Yes Treyarch is more creative with gameplay, but IW did better with the graphics engine. Though in my opinion, WW2 needs a good dose of creativity, lest gamers get bored with the same setting over and over.
