i think the world will end before a new console comes out, sorry

acctually i heard that another xbox is coming out. not sure if its just like an extention on the xbox 360 or what but soon another one will come out. They always do

probably in about 2 or 4 years. I hope they wait a while. The cost of the new generation will be way too much for me.

i bet they will come out with some expansions to the xbox 360 and ps3's and then after a year or so, BOOM!! they decided that they should come out with xbox 361 and ps3.5 or something

Why would you say that. Is technology not advancing enough for you? Well taking into consideration that it took a five year period from the PS2 to the PS3, then I would have to guess that it would take probably six years because they can have an extra year to make the consoles even better then ever.

the average span is 6 years for a console, so I estimate 5-6 years if they follow that trend

What if, like someone mentioned above, if everything just becomes upgradable? Instead of getting an entirely new console you could buy the expansion packs for them? I bet that might be the next step in gaming. People are going to get tired of paying so much for new consoles.

lo isn't it to early to be thinking about a new ps4 or xbox 360? I agree with Asherlee cause people will stop buying games cause they will cost to much to get a new consloe

An totally upgradeable console can't be far away now that downloadable content is taking over, can it? They already have various map packs, hardware updates, and even games available on all three systems, so I don't see any limitations to them taking it to the next level.

However, because of the PS3's poor sales it's doubtful that Sony will release another console, but there's still rumors going around about it. It's still another 5-6 years off at least, though.

As far as 360 goes, they've talked about it, and even released some pictures. I really do hope it's not just another Photoshop going around.

around 2015, is my estimate because look at how long it took for them to go from XBOX to the 360. It will probably take a much longer time to make a "XBOX 720" lol...
