The Tardigrade is immense. Heard of them? THey are more commonly known as water bears. THey can survive anywhere their is water; on the ocean floor, in polar ice caps, in radioactive springs or in a pond. What is amazing about them is that if their water supply dries up so do they. Theor life processes stop they are idle but still alive. In this state they ar almost indestuctable. They have been cooled to -272 degrees c and resurected and warmed to 151 degees c. THey have been stored in liquid helium for a week and given doses of radiation thousands of time the fatal dose for humans. They have been squashed with pressured 6 times greater than the bottom of the ocean. But with a drop of water they spring back to life. Oh I should mention they are a twentieth of an inch long
Any chance of a loger post antsubaku. A reason perchance?
Anyway I prefer tigons
My fave aquatic animal (sonce I have done this thread before with my all time fave animal) is the Short finned Mako shark very nice thing good looking (for a fish) and fast.
Are tigons the ones which are really rare with the tiger mum and the lion dad? And ligers are lion mums and tiger dads? I dunno if they are common. I forgot where I got the info.
I can't belive this thread got 12 pages. I was pretty new (I think) when I made this thread. I totally regret what I wrote in the opening comment. *Shame* I still like budgies but I could of made the opening comment more intulectual.
A liger is a hybrid between a male lion and a tigress. A Tigon is a hybrid cross between a male tiger and a female lion.
Both are pretty rare because they don't occur outside of captivity and even then are rare in captivity. Liges are more common than tigons though, apparently, because male tigers' find the courtship behaviour of a lioness too subtle and thus miss behavioural cues that signal her willingness to mate.
