Anime is usually used about Japanese cartoons, though it is really just the Japanese word for cartoon.
Same with manga, though that's the comic book form. Though much Japanese stuff is a little bit less comedic...

When talking about anime/manga in English, you are usually referring to the ones made in the typical Japanese style of drawing, not just any cartoon/comic.

Hmm, as I said before, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles is a hit with me, and the parallel history in XXXholic makes it even better.
I am fond of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and is desperately trying to get hold of the manga.

Besides those, there is the .hack//SIGN, and .hack//Legend of the Twilight, the only stories I have watched/read to the end.

Elfen Lied is good too, as Zophia mentioned, but I have not gotten the time to finish the manga just yet.

Ah, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles... that was fun. And imagine my surprise (as well as awe) when I found out that the manga was in fact not quite as pg13 as I thought! The Tokyo Revelation OVA on the other hand is a near-exact copy of the manga... But both are awesome, manga and anime.

Other than that... I can't recall just how much I've seen, but it's been a lot. Choosing one I like most is pretty much impossible

Oh! ANOTHER FAN!! *happiness*
Really, really, really! cannot wait for the third season, but that will probably have to wait for some years.
On the other hand the manga is being suspense on suspense; frustrating as hell, but not enough to give up the manga. Oh, is he dead, will it end in a good way, is he good, who the heck is that guy, where is she... All that stuff. /rant

Shouldn't this be in the Art/Music/Movies thread?
Well, anyway. My favorite anime used to be Death Note, but after importanthappening it just started beating around the bush and it got boring. So i quit. And then i just found out what happened randomly in the internet XD

I also like Lucky Star, Ouran Host Club, Soul Eater. Oh, and Bokura Ga Ita...LOL. I also used to be a fan of Digi/Pokemon, then they all got fillery and dumby. Specially Pokemon. I used to know the whole Team Rocket song... then it just got random.

My favorite manga is Bakuman, by the creator of Death Note. I which follow it steadily. IT'S AMAZING.
