When I first read the second post, my response was exactly like Carlie's, What? Mario Galaxy is just awesome, and a lot better then MP8. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan of Mario Party games, it just that I prefer Mario Galaxy a lot more.
depends on what the usage will be out of the game, if u have 4 wii remotes and have about 3 friends around alot then get MP8 but if it will just be u playing the game and occasionally 1 other friend then get mario galaxy (SMG is a 2 player)

no seriously the whole point of mario party is the fact that u r supposed to have the maximum amount of players playing it but it has no online feature so dont expect online play, OH well MP9 (which will very likely be released this year) will possibly be released with online play so id wait untill MP9 comes out 2 see if that has an online mode
galixy u have better grahics and mp8 is boring even with 4play and galaxy is more fun besides it has more charactors/bosses/and i realy like the trial galaxies i beet the game with mario and now on luigi which is tougher!!!!!!ans more funn than mp8 with reaks
Mario Galaxy was the better of the two by far for me. I wouldnt have even bothered to compare them.
Mario party is only any fun at all when you have somebody to play with, and even then its pointless as for the most part its just a game of luck.
Mario galaxy was an awesome game. The only thing it lacked was a decent multiplayer feature (though personally i prefer to play most games alone anyway) and it could have done with a better storyline.
