i saw grease in my music class a while back when the teacher wasn't there i think its a lot better than High school musical but its not my kind of movie though.
I laughed in disbelief when people were drawing comparisons between Romeo and Juliet and HSM--yeah right! High School Musical is essentially Grease, scrubbed clean and adapted to the 21st century.
I think it's ridiculous to compare them. Grease was about smoking, teen pregnancy, sex, race cars, rebels, and craziness, HSM was a perfect innocent happy dappy love story with music. It is similar to Romeo & Juliet, but bah, almost all movies are. It's also the same concept of the Phantom of the opera, an Opera inside of an Opera, a Musical inside of a Musical. Of course, comparing Phantom of the Opera to High school musical is like comparing chips to a chef made dessert.
I don't necessarily mean the drugs and sex and innocents stuff. I mean the whole High schoolers dancing around and changing their lives by doing stuff they've never done before. Grease it was the boy becoming a jock, the girl becoming a 'bad girl'. HSM it was them becoming singers.
