I only have played the first, so obvious that's the one that I liked the most. But the third is probably the best because of the graphics and new things added.
Let us see, well I love the newer third one because it has better features and newer features that i love to the highest extent. For example the home town system and the shipments during battle. Two great add-ons to the game. But I will say I hate the battling system on the newer ones, it doesn't seem that its real. The graphics are better and it doesn't seem as real,how ironic. Age of Empires II is my favorite, it has very balanced "races"/"country's." I also think that fighting,campaign,and map maker are much better on the older game, Age of Empires II.
i don't like the 3 one cause it is way to modern i prefer the 2nd one by a lot and the first one is to old the 2nd is the best and if you want cheats go to cheatplanet.com
The Thread asked specifically for I, II, and III. AoM was ok but the graphics were a bit off. It seems pathetic but I didn't like all the monsters and mythical creatures in it. (removing would negate the point of the game though) anyway I prefer a musket or sword before poisons spines and claws. (or that weird sunlight crocodile).
I prefer the story on II. It is much more historicaly acurate htan III. III is just a load of random rubbish about magic lakes and strange cults and sects. I so like some of the upgrades though and the home city thing is great.
What is evryones favourite unit?
I like the skirmishers in III good range and quite fast reload + their cheap. Much better than the musketeers.
The first,it was a wonderful game when it had been released but I didn't appreciated it at a lot when I tried Aoe I..too slow I think,even if Cobra Cars were really funny.
The second one is the most equilibrate. The third one I think there are too many buildings..I bit too hard in the single mode..I just appreciated the campaigns
