Every now and then, somebody comes along with the suggestion that the ArmorGames community should be turned into an MMO community. While thinking about the strength of community spirit in AG is nice, this doesn't really make sense because MMOs and forums are completely different things.

Which is to say it'd make our lives easier if you understand why we don't take up this suggestion. In short, please don't make topics about how AG should be made into an RPG.

However if you want to make an RPG based on the ArmorGames community, that's fine.

I have to say, strop's threads are usually the ones that are pretty minor and unimportant, but they're the ones I find the best.


The devil is in the details! What people don't notice much here are the things that plague the moderators so...

To reiterate: "MAKE ARMORGAMES AN RPG" = no sense, whether you're talking about a role-playing game or a rocket launcher. Especially the rocket launcher.

"Make an RPG based on the AG community" can happen and work well in several different ways, in fact they have been, and will continue to be done.

So this means to say to turn the entire site into an online Role Playing Game, -looks at Roadripper- that would be fun as an extension of the site. I could see it being related to AP working but not for achieving things in-game but, sportsmanship etc. I think it could be a good idea.


Adding on to my previous post, another site can be created, an online role playing game. The site could be call "armorgamesrpg.com" or something. An actual animated rpg, not a written one. It could take a while to make, but would get a lot of popularity, would it not? It could also make current members more active, maybe your character levels due to your AG rank? Please put this into consideration.

I think the point there was "if you want to go to the effort of creating an MMO, why base it on the AG community?"

Seriously, it's a ton of work. It's already a ton of work to keep the site running.

I don't like text RPGs. I'd rather have a nice discussion of some sort. Although I do like the kind of RPGs with graphics and a digital character as you go through a first-person adventure, but that's not really the point.

Rpgs can be fun but that is definitely not the way ag should go i mean it is already so good as it is. And how would posting games work in an rpg ?

Well making a game based on AG probably would take a lot of work.. It should just stay as it is.
