What do you love in flash TD games, what do you hate, and what do you think they are missing?

Why are you asking? Are you planning to write one? I"m not typing up a long list of points just to pass the time.

I wrote one a few months ago. I'm just wrapping up a new version of it which *I* think is great but obviously I'm biased.

I want to hear what people love or hate about TD games in general so I can apply that to my game and make it better.

towers that can be upgraded, various of enemys with different type of weakness(and different towers for the different weaknesses). alot of different maps and ofcourse a "speed up" buttom ^^ bossmonsters is always nice aswell

Actually got all of those things already, although the speed up button's a work in progress since each computer's only capable of running flash at 'x', and telling it to run at twice that doesn't actually do anything.

What else?

This is not essential but it is very annoying:

The fact that you can't deselect tower placement and you are forced to watch tower and it's range every time you move your mouse over the game screen.
So there should be a deselect button.

The thing I hate about some TD's is that it can get really laggy in the later levels

Probably multiplayer, tower selection, creep variety, and difficulty. You should be able to adjust the difficulty.

Level selection is good. Also, tower selection could follow some sort of evolutionary path. Miscellaneous upgrades/tech research is something nice.

being able to save is a good thing, I also like it when theres a lot of stronger enemys rather than lots of weaker ones, makes it a lot less laggy

A pause button that brings up an in game menu is always nice. I also like the tower defense games where you get to shoot at the creeps with a little mobile tower...

I agree with all of them. But also if enemies has a weakness and strenght, thats make it more strategical. And also somekind of "general" upgrades, what will stay and effect all time.
And lot of different type of towers is fun, I like chosing correct ones. Some kind of spesial avabilities for enemies/towers is also fun.

I disagree.I like killing masses of weaker enemies more than killing few of stronger ones.It gives you feel of languor, if enemies are stronger. But, its just my opinion :P
