I decided to make, yet another story contest thread. This one will have always judges, a new one every three days, chosen by me of course. Thoses judges will choose one topic and rate each story 1 through 10 and give constructive critism. I am todays judge 1, and I will make the first willing person judge 2, and for the topic:

End of the World (Some way the world ended, may it be aliens, warfare or zombies, it's your story, survivers are permitted)
Minimum of three paragraphs.
The deadline is May 12th.
You may begin posting!
Can be first or third person.

lol I was matching match of the day and kept flicking to see the results. The person who sung for UK had better have been good several months of pointles reality show voting stuff to find her. Then again we do pay for a large proportion of the thing. (the big four countries, France, UK, SPain(?) and germany all pay the most money for some readon)

*nod* I hate those kinds of shows... Eurovision: I have a hard time remembering when I liked a song participating there... X-factor and all the like usually is not doing great on my list either, simply because most suck as well (at least here in DK), and the judges are biased.
Music these days, really...
*looks around* I think we just went offtopic > >

Uhm...

He could never have stopped in time, he was told. He could not have done anything to avoid it. It was not his fault.
But he knew it was his fault.
If he hadn't been driving so fast... It was below the speeding limit, but...But he shouldn't have been driving so fast.
He should have been cautious.
But still he hit her.
She was not killed. It might have been better if he had killed her in the accident, but instead he just damaged her.
Now she was sitting in the wheel chair, looking emptily out the window. He wondered if she would ever recover. The doctors said it might be a possibility; that she might be able to think again.
He shook his head as his own mental formulation. But he knew it was how it was. Her brain was damaged, and sending wrong signals, making her face twitch over and over again. And that empty gaze... She looked like she wasn't even seeing anything...

He knew that that accident had altered his world. And that that accident had ruined her's.

I am totally on topic now!
Well, there is the children music awards as well. Giving me the same bad taste in my mouth...
Ten years ago all these contests were worth watching, because people actually cared about writing something great. Not unlike a musician's first album. Most of the songs are okay. But then the next will most likely be rushed and really bad, with one good song or so, and from there... Chaos!

I have read decent second-hand books...though technically not much on the character developement. You know all those game books? Fighting Fantasy? Those were in the second-person...

Well, I have read rpg books (go to number -- to see what happens), which has the same concept. They are okay. But I think that it is rather hard to make a proper story like that, simply because there is no storytelling elements.
I also doubt people want to read stories like those, because the constant intimacy with the narrator is uncomfortable.

Eurovision song contest. A European song contest for all the countries in Europe. Usually known as the time of year when all the most crappy songs drag themselves out of the dungeon and gets a lot of sparkles (like certain vampires in sunlight* > &gt and ruin the ears of those who listens.
Also known for the political voting, which means that you cannot really trust it is the best song winning.

*In old country we spontaneously comboost. Poof! Is tradition.

We have. Now, at least. Could have been useful yesterday, but I was too high on nationalism to make one.

Naw, no comment on my bold story?
