This thread will be about Left for Dead 2, and will contain any information on the game. Instead of posting a link to a site (Since most people don't like to read!) I'll just post the information here.
Systems: Xbox 360 & PC Release Date: TBA (To be anounced)
The Story:
This time, Left for Dead will take place in southern United States. Some places of interest include Savannah, Gerogia to Bayou county and New Orleans. What you will be doing is trying to make your way through the southern US cities, counties etc, to a Military base in New Orleans. (Apperently it has not been hit by the infection yet)
The Characters:
- Humans/Survivors:
You have a whole new set of characters. Nick (The guy in a flashy suit), Ellis (the mechanic may also be known as 'Ty', Rochelle (The girl) and the 'Coach' (Known as Philco)
- Zombies
There will be a lot of new zombies this time around with returning bosses such as Tank, Smoker, Hunter, Boomer and ofcourse the Witch. But new zombies such as 'Charger' and that's the only one Valve have yet released information about, other then some non boss zombies. The charger is designed to defeat the human players tactic of camping out in a small room/space. He charges out you, and if you get hit, you are knocked to the ground and can be attacked by the rest of the horde. He can also grab hold of a survivor and pile drive them into the ground as much as he wants. He's not as tough as a tank, but can still hold on his own.
Weapons:
- Melee:
In Left for Dead 2, you can take the fight to the hordes with your own hands. Well....sort of. You can use weapons such as frying pans and baseball bats, and even go as far as a chainsaw! They can one hit kill most of the special zombie types except the witch and tank.
- Fire Arms
The weapons have been improved, such things as the shotgun being reamped. And the sniper aswell. A tech nine is also in play or a type of machine gun. It is also stated that the weapons each have a charateristic this time around. It will no longer feel like your useing the same weapon with a new costume on.
- Other:
This time, you get new types of ammunation. Such as Incedinary Bullets, in witch case when fired set the zombie ablaze.
Facts:
The AI dierector had been kicked up a notch, it will set up the game depending on your difficulty. So let's say your having trouble with a certain levle, it'll change up a levle in a small way to make it easier for you. (But don't expect a babysitting sitution) And vice versa if your really doing great at a levle, it'll change it a up a bit so that it becomes more of a challange.
It will include five campaigns instead of four.
Valve may add the other campaigns from the first game into this one, just so you don't have to switch up while playing with friends.
the melee weapons sound a bit OP... a one hit weapon with infinite ammo. Other than that it sounds really fun and the stuff about the AI was in the 1st L4D to say you were doing amazing it would through a tank your way or have a witch and if you were doing bad there would be less hordes and no tanks/witches
I agree, I was shocked that a melee weapon would be albe to kill almost all special zombies with one shot. I mean I would have understood if it were just normal zombies but special ones? Over powered frying pan much? Haha!
I've seen this on Youtube. If you go to Machinima's profile, just look around for L4D 2. And you should find it. I think it looks pretty fun, and I am for SURE going to get it!

Well back when Left for Dead was released, it was the only zombie game of it's type. It was very popular amongst gamers because you could play with friends and ultimatly try and survive the zombie hordes. By your self this game is pretty much not worth it, but with firends this game is amazing. In the end there are a lot of factors that could make or break ones opinion about this game.
Personally I thought Left for Dead was a bad game, but Left for Dead 2 might be better.
Well they may be to similler if a game for you to enjoy the second one, but who knows? Let's hope it's better then the first though.

Yes, thanks for the information, but IGN and other game sites get the info before Machinima, plus they get a hands on. Machinima only post's the videos.
Great, sequel to an unfinished game. This game will blow, but you little kiddies will buy it.
'Little kiddies'?
Why so? Because I have an opinion as to what game I like or dislike? I think not..... Sure I think that Left for Dead 1 was 'unfinished' and was rough around the edges, but I still bought it because I enjoyed it.

It's fun as hell in multiplayer. Especially because of how fast paced it is. It's not like you are aiming at something far away that is also aiming at you. No, you are aiming at hordes of zombies gunning for you, especially when Boomer gets you.

I'm glad you shared your opinion but whats with the "little kiddies" comment? I'm 24 with a wife, 2 kids, a house, a career etc. but I still play video games. So again, why the little kiddies comment. You know if you dont like it you dont have to post.
Many people also say it's a waste of money how long ago did they make left 4 dead? and now they are making another one? There is also a petition for it not to be made. Seriously like half a year later they are making another one? Why not work on making the first one good like expansion packs? or upgrades? Look at tf2 so many upgrades. If they are making another left 4 dead is should be a free expansion pack.

That's because TF2 isn't available for Xbox 360. L4D, however, is, and not a lot of people will go and buy it on Steam as well. Personally, I have it for the 360 and it's still fun to go to a friend's house and play.
Left for dead is a sick game, the graphics are gory, the sound is amazing and the monsters make you wanna shit yourself. It's a great sequel and i highly recommend buying it.
