I think that the two cannot exist in the same universe at the same time. I await Pixie's answer...

Hihi, I know the answer if something unstoppable exists there is no object immovable. Cause when something can stop pushes everything it meets and when something is immovable nothing can make it move. So it's impossible the existence of both in the same time. Also there is no other solution one object will prevail to the other, because there is no other choice. I hope I explain it well.

Screw moving the object
Go through it.

An exchange of energy, which would make the unstoppable object stop, and the immovable object move.
Could possibly became eachother.

And nice way of reviving.

I have a number of smart-alec comebacks to this:

a) Smart reply: You assume plasticity applies (i.e. all inertia is preserved), but it doesn't have to be, even assuming this is a closed Newtonian system :3

b) Smarter reply: Neither of these terms make any real sense given a lack of absolute frame of reference :\\

c) Tangential reply: This is why you shouldn't let RPGers god-mod their characters >_>

I agree with ultimate. . . or, the universe would stop. I am not sure though. OR they can't exist in the same universe like previously stated.

If an unstoppable force meets immovable object? Batman hangs the Joker upside-down.

The answer is simple. They can't both exist. Either the unstoppable force would stop or the immovable object moves. Or there is a hole in the immovable object for the unstoppable force to go through

This is like the whoel because god can do anything can he make a rock so heavy he can't lift it? It's a paradox with no answer other than one cannot exist.

He won't save children in Africa... God doesn't exist.

I await Pixie's answer...

Why?

A constant and infinite flow of energy from the force could be "absorbed" by the infinite mass and inertia of the object. Both would appear as if resting and like no transfer was taking place. To go with Newtons third law "To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." the object would push back with same force making it also an unstoppable force.

Or...

A universe in which there exists such a thing as an irresistible force is therefore a universe which cannot also contain an immovable object. And a universe which contains an immovable object cannot therefore also contain an irresistible force.

Chinese story time:

A man was selling a shield and a spear. He saw a man who was interested in the spear and started on his sales speech, saying that the spear could got through ant shield. When the man showed interest in the shield the salesman said the shiels could defend against any spear. The man asked how it could be possible for both these to exist and the salesman could not answer. Moral: Don't contradict yourself.

A;though it is fun to come up with ideas at the end of the day this is a paradox and as such there is no real answer. The old thread on this went on for 100 posts and had sense to guard it, I wonder how this one will do.

in reality, neither can exist at all...

for any force that exists that is being propelled, anything that would be in its path would slow it down in even the moost miniscule way, unless the force absorbs that resistance and uses it to generate more power and again accelerate, which is impossible... for now

as for the immovable object, Where is it not moving from? Earth, or just in space? if on earth, then it is already moving because the earth is rotating, and in space, it is imposible to to have absolute zero motion due to the small or strong pulls of gravity from surrounding and distant objects.

HOWever, if one just looked at this question without analyzing reality, then the unstoppable force would simply bounce back at the same speed and in the same direction that it came from

Unstoppable force vs immovable pbject is a logical contradiction. These two things would be unable to exist in a universe together.
