I bought my first game in FOREVER, and it had to be conduit, special edition. Fortunately I got the special edition for the same price as the normal one at Game Stop. All the same, I'm dedicating some space on this board for the game, because I think it's a great combination of other hit classics.
Description
Washington, D.C. has fallen prey to a full-scale alien invasion, and suspicions have arisen regarding the government's role in the attack. With the city thrown into chaos, it's up to you, as a former Secret Service agent code-named "Mr. Ford," to fight back against the alien invaders as well as rogue agents and other enemy forces. Arm yourself with an array of sci-fi-style gadgets and high-powered weaponry and prepare to blast into the heart of a conflict that may have roots into cover-ups spanning centuries.
My Review:
Conduit is a game of obvious gamer immersions, with a very mechanical plot to meet the design of the story. Unfortunately the plot has obvious terrible flaws (The typical antagonist offering the protagonist power for help, except in this case, the government uses you and expect you to join them back after trying to kill you?).
Beyond that, it' probably one of the better First Person Shooters for the Wii. FPS Wii games have been limited due to expectations of 6 feet of space in every room and unstable navigation, which are all the same in every wii FPS so far..
Gentle Spec Breakdown:
Gameplay 8/10! Surprisingly good gameplay and use, many of halo's features, with Half Life design ideas(No physics puzzles!) and twist of their own.
Plot 5/10 We get it, you got betrayed and you're following cliche procedure with a gruff voice and a trust-no-one attitude.
Graphics 7/10 Wii simply wasn't made to do graphics and physics like other machines, but Conduit put good work into the fluidity of the movement, and a good leap forward for complex detail and nonphysical detail. Amazing outdoor fight scenes. Moderately decent ragdoll physics
Multiplayer 9/10 It's basically halo 3 multiplayer and online player, without annoying Xbox Live dues, and incredibly similar features.. Not original, but functional. Some small flaws in the expectancy of the user's broadband connection, and not the greatest servers. Not to mention a few game glitches. But very very similar to Halo 3.
SinglePlayer Tips:
It's incredibly difficult, even on the easiest of settings, so expect major differences on each plato of difficulty.
Easy- Melee everything. You'll be fine until you are swarmed by drones and/or flying monsters, by which point you should know how to aim and shoot. Regen is waaay too short
Guided- Use Trust weapons for the first few missions, then decide what's neccesary later on.
Medium- Ammo will be limited, use grenades frequently and melee the smaller drudge before they unfurl themselves from running. Flying drudge are going to be a HUGE issue. Humans, as always, are awfully easy as long as they don't have a TFC launcher
Difficult+ to be added later
Multiplayer Tips: No matter where you are, every experienced user is going to pick "Short/Far" weapon set up, so get used to using a shotgun and a lot of grenades. The idiocy of this weapon set up is the map choice. It should be either streets or Sanctuary, but if not, you have a problem with turning around. Use Up arrow to frequently check your ass, but you should have an unreliable radar to help as well, which responds terribly to any lag.
-Weapon Tips later-
