So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
Some people, namely my brother (lol) get desync'ed despite the fact that they are not hacking, nor do they need to hack to win. The game just glitches up and creates a very large inconvenience to those involved, not to mention create a fallacy against a reputable player.
It seems to happen mid-way into the game. My theory is that the game runs at a certain speed and, because your client starts slower or you just lag more than other players, your time variables are not in sync with other player's simulated clients. Thus, the game believes you are speed hacking, even though you're ironically slower (lol) than your opponents. (Krin, read this post to see if this is the correct reason, lol.)
It happens because the game thinks someone is spending more resources than they have. I'll fix this within 48 hours. Right now I'm busy with a documentary project for school
Dang Krin. Well, I thought of that, but I was banking on an earlier post about your time variables and simulated clients. Thought of the resource thing though. ;D
Yeah, I've been playing only with known people, I play with skype on, and when I tell people they've got desynchd, or they tell me, its hard to believe. The worst thing is having your reputation smeared. Anyway, this new hacker-unfriendly environment is better than none. I love it when they are kicked! I prefer losing and being accused of hacking by mistake than winning with a hacker on my side: if this is the case, I try to help the other side. Once I warned the other team about queens in quake, told them to destroy buildings and make sakas, the hacker got so mad that for me it was worth losing the game altogether, hahaha hackers.
... you gave krin information... weird
My response is, I have been giving him updates about what has been going on with Colony.
