So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
If my opponent isn't rushing, I would usually go bank armory forge, but oh well. It depends on who I'm facing.
be we could fix that
I'm sure CCP said something just like that (yes, with a grammar error somewhere too) a long time ago. Look at where they are today.
In 1v1, I like to scout spam until I run out of resources, and then I transition to siege tanks. I tend to research spider mines before siege mode, but it depends on the situation. If your opponent looks like he's going for fast hovers, make sure you use the opportunity to dropship some units near his mineral line if there's a blind spot that his defenses can't cover. If it's too late, then you can still use showmethemoney and spam battle cruisers.
I am really starting to hate Colony. Every time I come back, it's the only thing I think about in school. For example, today the topic on my mind was: What is the ideal balance in an real-time-strategy game like Colony?
I will say I have made alot of progress on this topic. I might post about it later tonight or tomorrow.

Hello, i am The Game Reporter. I tell people about games. i just want to say something to Krin too, before i start.
I have interviewed many people and they all say it's good for only one reason: The Action part of it. i understand that action isn't was makes games the best, but its a nice thing to have.
First of all let me start with the campaign.
Let me say that is is very well put together, and it makes sense. the game play is great, and i understand that graphics are only the icing of a game, but i will rate it on that too, as it does count for only a third of my report. Here are my results:
GRAPHICS: 9/10 >>> this counts for visual appearance only <<<
I was amazed by the graphics when i first saw this game. the effects, the light, the background, it was all good.
GAME PLAY: 7.9/10 >>> this counts for unit options ( variety ), extras, and music <<<
it was great, there were plenty of counters for the units, the music was EPIC and, my favorite part, was that you could talk to the computer, i think this is where you went up on. it was all good.
STORY LINE: 7/10 >>> this counts for if the storyline makes sense, and the complexity of the story line <<<
the story line was great, with the classic one of fighting over the resources, except this game has a twist to it. how ever, it almost got a 6.8 for slight lack of complexity, I didn't get to know the story too much, but from what i know, it isn't bad that much, but every game has to have some sort of complexity, at least a little.
here's another build you can do for monarchy: Hospital saint build -bank -hospital -upgrade bank (optional) -upgrade hospital -start making saints (you will be able to make 2 by this point) -build spec. ops. -start making influence in spec. ops. -repeat last 2 steps -(if game continues) tear down bank/treasury -build forge (optional) -upgrade forge -build units (for the required situation)
you have to keep pumping saints the whole time BTW. Also, if you are playing any mode besides SS, DF, EQ, or CW, you can launch missiles from your spec. ops. from time to time to help out your saints. You will have a lot of money and energy by the time yo build your second spec. ops. so you will be able to launch LOTS AND LOTS of missiles.
Now, keep in mind that for this to work you will need to have your ally cover you for a few minutes for you to be able to make a considerable amount of saints. Teamwork is key for this build, since the anti-air spiders are a very effective counter to saints. so you will need to have your ally to build units that can tame those spiders out.
Saints are generally the best anti-air air unit in my opinion. they can repair themselves and they can take down a black queen very fast. They are also good against ground units, but are weak against the anti-air spider and the gladiator.
So i hope this helped you! This is a very good tactic, i won many games using it.
