^As suggested by Zopia.

*sigh*
Concluded a good time ago that reviving/necroing my old thread would be rather stupid and unnecessary, especially since it never really got commented on.
This basically meant I decided not to post images unless it had a purpose (contest, WoM, and so on). Blah.

Anyway. New thread. Drawings and stuff. Beware.

New dA id, because the other was depressing.

In shoujo it's usually lemonade, or milk.

I do not read shoujo, so I would not know. I just thought that dropping stuff that can be picked up is all good...

Lyra was the one with her back turned, yes.

Hm? Really? I always assumed Technique, and Style are the same thing, just different names.

Technique: What you do.
Style: How you do.
Or something like that.

If you're the kind of person who wanders around a gallery yelling "MY SIX-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER COULD DO BETTER THAN THAT" (and she isn't some kid-prodigy like Akiane or something), then perhaps.

However, if you're art-educated, you'll have the differences drummed into you so that you can actually tell which one's plain crap, which one is method-behind-madness, and which one is method-producing-crap. However, too much in-depth discussion of the sort turns you into a wanker.

I don't consider myself an artist, just somebody who likes to draw in their spare time. But I've spent enough time on it to start twitching when somebody equates their tastes with an objective assessment. That's like saying that opinion = fact.

Tis what I think also.

Simple Example:

John draws his squares first and then he does his circles.

Jane draws her circles first and then she does her squares.

The both have the same style, but they take a different way of getting it done (technique). Hope that makes sense.

Actually not to be contrarian, but I was thinking it was the other way around >_>

Technique: How you do.
Style: What you do.

Because how is derived from a method, and method underlies technique.

Anyway, Cenny cen cen, my gmail is putzing on me, so I have to *bow and poof* from here D:

hehe the philosophy of art...what is good art by standards to me is like saying lets go all jump off a bridge and hope nothing happens to us. I just find it funny to me a line is a line and a color is a color wether an insane starved dying painter throws it on a canvas to sell for a hundred thousand dollars or a child uses crayons on a wall it seems the same because it is in my opinion not a social contest just an expression of one perspective.

You guys agree a lot. >_>

Technique: What you do and how you do it.
Style: What it ends up looking like after being done.

At least that's how I see it.

But, uhm, I have a feeling we're gonna get T T'd if we keep discussing words and ignoring Cen's stuff.

Well, they were not that commenting in the first place. That discussion just makes their posts constructive instead of... Whatever some of them was before.

I have not touched my tablet today.
And it is getting too late to start now, really. There are still the c-ck one and the expressions, but well...
Should still have fixed the evil!Cen one, since Bronze seemed to think it was still wrong.

I suppose if the interest is there we could create another thread about it.

Actually you know what, I'm moping around at home because I had to cancel my epic trip, so that's what I'll do.

Pretty eye and good lips, not to much more for me to say, but hey, IT'S A COMMENT!

Well something on lips then, they are jerks to draw, maybe that is why I love my mountain men that conviently conceal the mouth with their facial hair...
