Posting this up for people to post suggestions about stuff that should happen to locked threads. I think that when a thread is locked it shoud say why it is locked and if it is locked because another forum has the same topic then you should receive a link to that forum.

Some/most mods do write why the thread is locked/moved, unless they are lost for words because of the whatever the thread might be (stupidity/openly flaming). Most does this, most give a link if the thread is repeated (unless someone else did it already)...
People can still just open the thread and look, can they not? If they want to know why it is locked, but are too lazy to do so, they are not curious enough.
Otherwise they should take a look at this list and try to figure it out themselves.
The thread is answered. It will lead to spam. It is spam. It is a thread made a thousand times. It is placed in the wrong section, and there is a thread about it in the appropriate section. It is a duplicate. It is a troll thread. It invites to trolling/flaming. It is a club (and one without a given purpose that cannot be held somewhere else) The thread is largely off topic. The thread is an advertisement. The OP asks to get the thread locked because they have made a better, more clear version. The OP asks to get the thread locked because it has gone off the rail. A combination of two or more of the above.
