I've heard that they are bringing 4 old merit badges that they got ride of back! I think they are path finding, tracking, carpentry, signaling! they are only bringing them back for this year only because it is the 100th anniversary. So try to get those because you can only get them this year or in another 100 years. So get those now!
Jeez you people have no respect for an organization that is trying to create more mature, respectful young men.
The Boy Scouts of America (or BSA) instills many great values useful for later in life. Some of these values are: hard work, respect towards others, coping with situations, reverence towards others beliefs, social skills, people skills, and general values that are good to have for bettering the self.
Generally (or from what I've seen) the BSA has a bad reputation for having "immature" people in it. But I can guarantee you that if they go through the whole process and take it seriously, they will be more of a man than any of you will ever be.
Unfortunately having these values and being taught them through the BSA is pretty much frowned upon in our school systems of today. Being in the BSA is not regarded as something that is "cool" (since when is helping people, making friends, and bettering the self not cool)?
I used to be in the BSA (can't remember the troop number of the top of my though) but I ended up quitting because I was struggling with grades and had to focus most of my attention towards school.
