If you bought your TV recently, then it would probably have 1080p, but I don't know how to check.

You could maybe read the instruction manuel that came with the tv. That would of been handy to keep. Also checking maybe the the box, if you kept it. Also you could always check your tv name or speficic name like if it was a 27 inch sony, you could search it online on a stores website like Walmart.

Check the tv's front, check the tv's box, check its manual. If you are checking out a tv, then an employee will tell you what resolution the tv is; if it's online, then the full description of the tv, including the resolution, will be shown.

Those games don't need 1080P, just that these are the games that support it. 1080P is full HDTV and it brings out the full details of the screen and the game. It's shweet.

I'm not sure with PS3, but Xbox has a bit in the setup that allows you to change it from there.

Most TV's can change because of the devices that hook up to it.

If it's a 1080p TV you'll not need to change it.

The best system is by trial and error though.

Even if your TV is 720p, you can still play a 1080p game. But check the manual, or google the tv's model.
