cant these online games be about something else than empires for once? it seems like there is no originality anymore.
first of all AoE is a CD-rom, also its one of the first empire games there was and a very well done game, its the best strategy games ive ever play AoE 2 is the best out of the series i think.
I have AoE2, and Age of Mythology (the Expansion for both.)
They are great games. However, their original servers are offline now. HOWEVER.
go to www.gameranger.com, for playing basically any game online, including all the age of empires games, or any games without their own server. (except red alert 1, Command and Conqeur, Tiberuim Dawn, and Tiberuim Sun :C)
But yeah. You can play online there.
The one thing I hated in AoE2 though is that they didn't finish units. the Genitour was originally going to be a Skirmisher cav, and there would've been African civs for it, and Sea towers, Sea walls, whole cities on the sea, and you could've boarded ships, with special "irate" ships. It would have been even mroe epic with them.
I got both the BEta version, and the normal. Both are fun, but the BEta has better graphics.
