Use this space to discuss mods, classes, questing, or anything to do with Oblivion. This game is very fun and has more mod capability than any game I've ever played in my life. It's a great play and has huge replayability value due to its modding and the different classes you can play.

Akintosh Dragon would have been far better in Morrowind due to technical issues. I played Oblivion for about 400 - 500 hours and Morrowind for a bit less. Unique Landscapes mod was very good and so was Illumination Within and Qarl's Texture Pack. My character was in Caine's Armour, which looks pretty awesome.

I've been playing Oblivion again recently. I'm not huge on the whole Black and White thing (you know, morality and such), but it's still a good game.

I tried to install the mods that will make playing Oblivion better, but I can't seem to get them to work. Nature Environments, Night Lights and Perfect Water don't work when I try to use them... Guess I need help. =)

i've had it for almost a year now (goty edition, xbox 360), and oblivion must be one of the best rpgs of all time. That's all I got to say, just plain epic.

Q - What is the color of night?
A - Blood red, my brother.
How could someone forget this game?
I remember a transparent knight, with a flaming sword, riding across a lake - on water -.
Sadly my pc crashed, it was a good pic.

Oblivion's probably the best RPG ever(in my opinion). I've had loads of fun playing through it. The realistic water and increased texture mods do help improve the graphics a lot. Love the quest, I only wish there was a "morality" factor and more depth to the characters though.

I want to start by saying I LOVE Oblivion. The only problem i've had with it though is that during my original play through, while trying to complete the main quest-line in the part where you have to collect the books (it's pretty early in the game) i accidently dropped one of the books. I realized this after i had collected the other books and now i cant find it, and am therefore not able to complete the main quest-line. Why the hell did it let me drop a quest item?!?!?! So i had to start a new play through But other than that i've had no problems. It's a fantastic game, I picked up the GOTY version after i beat Fallout 3 a few too many times :P and I'm really liking all the different DLC too. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem as me though, and if they ended up finding an alternative to starting over?

I had no idea you could drop quest items, but with cheats it is possible to obtain any item in the game, so if you're not too worried about cheating you can get the items on PC.

These will only work if: 1) you're on PC 2) you're doing the quest where you've got to get the Commentaries of the Mysterium Xarxes.

If you're on a 360 or PS3 you're screwed. If you're on PC click the little thing under Escape, next to 1 and above Tab (`). That should open up console. In the console type:

For book #1: player.AddItem 00022b04 1
For book #2: player.AddItem 00022b05 1
For book #3: player.AddItem 00022b06 1
For book #4: player.AddItem 00022b07 1

The capital and lowercase letters are important. To make sure the capital letters are definitely there by pressing Shift as Oblivion does not differentiate between the two characters if Caps is pressed.

Oblivion is a very good game, but that's all it is. It's far from being a masterpiece, and while thanks to the mods I spent hundreds of hours on it, it's really not quite as good as Morrowind. Bethesda has done more than a mistake during its development, such as dubbing NPCs and limiting their own and modders' freedom, and putting leveled creatures.

I still play them both anyway, together with Daggerfall and Arena, and if I'm to suggest any mods I'd say OOO merged with MMM. Those are the biggest mods I use. They truly create a layer of depth to the game that was missing. Sadly, they don't make it as good as its potential, but just much better.

I'm pretty sure they're making TES 5. When it is released is another matter, I think either this year or next. JFGI.

my favorite expansion was the island one.

Shivering Isles.

really not quite as good as Morrowind

I'll agree. I don't know what it is that makes me prefer Morrowind. I've always put it down to Bethesda adding excessive realism to a fantasy game. Morrowind would have been great with a physics system and graphics as good as Oblivions. What Oblivion lacked was a realistic fantasy setting.

and putting leveled creatures

There was a mod that took that out. Tesnexus it?
