Games where a Dark Elf can't be a Paladin, Gnome can't be a Monk, or a Troll can't be a Rogue. Does that bug you that you can't play something that you might find appealing?
I understand why a Gnome Wizard would be much better than a Lizard Wizard, but I would still like the option of choosing to play a Lizard Wizard if I so pleased. I won't be the most powerful - or handsome - though I would still be unique and be playing a frekin Lizard Wizard!
I do understand that sometimes there is a back story to WHY a certain race can't play a class due to them having in-game religious/affiliations believes about how the Shaman class was outlawed by the Ogre people and that type of nonsense. However, for the most part that doesn't happen and I'm curious why they limit a class from a race.
Agree? Disagree? Wouldn't you like to at least have the option of picking all classes for all races? Or, do you like the exclusivity for whatever reason?
Games in general. The games I've come across usually only allow you to play certain classes for certain races. It's not all/all which I think it should be - for more options for the player to choose from.
no, it's not really a big deal, i think people who refuse to play certain races have lost touch with reality and need to remind themselves that they're playing a video game

One of the video games that came to mind was Dragonage, where Dwarves cannot be mages. However, they pretty much gave an in-depth, storyline-based reason why they truly cannot use magic. It however, defeats the purpose roughly, since mages can become arcane warriors, which can use their magic stat as a strength stat at the same time, allowing them to use heavy armor and weapons with ease. So in this sense, ONE GAME is a little off-balanced.
I like the exclusive stuff bc that way you have more background for the character and most of the time it makes sense why the exclude a certain character from a class.
