How does one get merits on this site? I am new and don't know alot about being a member of this awesome site I don't even know what merits are for really... If anyone could help that would be nice! <3
Merits are generally earned when writing very informative comments on any given game and hope a Moderator see's it.
Anther way is too write a extremely informative topic on this site, although getting a merit for that is a rarity.
The third way is too write a great work of literature in the 'Art Section' on one of the many contest topics. There are plenty and it's fun too see how you do.
I'm amused by the amount of misinformation you guys provided in the first few posts.
The following things may earn you a merit: * Posting a very good review on a game; if a moderator randomly spots it, it may be rewarded with the 25 AP a merit is. * Winning a contest with a merit prize; these typically take place in the AMW section (Art, Music and Writing), and are based on some form of artistic skill. Far from all contests have merit prizes.

This does not reward merits. It may make the thread become stickied, but no merit will be given.
There is also a some what unknown method which is normally achieved in the WEPR section and it is making a very VERY informative argument.
This doesn't either. There used to be something called The Great Debate, and it was essentially debate duels. Winners were awarded a merit. However, due to no mods available to supervise this, it is no longer happening.
Checking the stickies usually always helps. My computer is acting weird so i cant give you the link but it is the second sticky on s&s.
