Loving this game so far, it's great fun and fairly simple in the Single Player. Except for one part. I need to kill a giant worm at the end. And I keep dying and resetting his health. So far it's day 17 and I'm still doing very badly. I tried upgrading to a rocket launcher, but apparently they don't damage him...not sure why, but there we are, so I had to recycle that and go way lower in the weapons table, upgraded my armour which helped but not a huge amount, so I'm wondering: any of you guys got some good hints/tips for beating this guy? Fancy posting a vid on the 'Tube? Because I'm stuck, and I'd love some help so I can finsih the game and see what happens at the end.
yay, completed it. I used s0s's solution, except I did some Hauthorn ducking. Knight's solution was also very useful too. The steroids and having a decent weapon really, really help, along with the fact that around halfway through, when he starts firing only 2 fireballs, they can be dodged by staying in one place. It helps also to put some points into vitality, I had a really close call where 6 of those armadyylo things attacked me at once and I managed to pause game at 12/300 health LOL. . Always travel to the outside, my minimap looked like a maltese cross.
I spent all of my points on digging; then I upgraded my turret and base defenses and kept going from there. I also used hauthorn's strategy for beating the worm.
I did pretty much like s0s, but instead of dex+speed, I put the points in armor+vitality. For the base upgrades, second upgrade is fine for everything and you don't really need the bed. I also crafted some armor near the begining of the game and by day 6 I had best chest armor, best helmet and second to best rocket launcher (last one is too expensive to be worth it) and then I spent days 7-10 gathering resources for whatever I hadn't upgraded yet and made about 10 medkits. Killed the bug in the beginning of day 11.
I just maxed my dex / speed and managed to get all best equipment on day 5. It's easier when I use up all my resources on adrenaline shot and go to the farthest part of the map to get resources and yeah I also managed to kill the big bug at start of day 11.
