Actully, you can't really say strategy games. In every game, you'll NEED a strategy to complete your goal. Easy or hard, doesn't matter
What about Real-Time Strategy games? I understand your point, but Strategy definitely represents a unique genre. I think of it as titles that expect you to deliberate for a couple minutes over your actions before you make them, and provide you with ample time to do so. An FPS or an Action title might require you to focus on a particular goal, but those goals are generally more short term, like killing all the targets or defending a specific point from incoming attacks..
Well i don't really have a favourite genre, i just like games with a good story and often a little bit of action, just like ratchet and clank or uncharted! Also i like games where you have to think, like phoenix wright but that also has a good story... So i like a lot =)
Action Adventures and Open World/Free roam games. Especially games like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Red Dead Redemption. FPS games are boring, unless you get to play online.
