Some people say ghosts can exist because they have some kind of unfinished business on this earth. Not all those "ghosts" are the kind that are thought of in most cases. I have proof of this too, I will teach you by telling you the tale of "The Undying Desires." This story takes place during the year of 1639, somewhere in Germany.

One eerie night, I was struggling to get to sleep. Earlier that day, I had agreed to watch over a family crypt so the owner could go out to purchase supplies. Now, the owner of the crypt was, at this time, an aged man named Siegfried. His mien was a cold and sullen one. His short black hair had a few streaks of gray now.

Siegfried was always a friend of my family. When I was a child, he taught me how to fish; he also helped my family with the menial work at the farm. I, Felix, now a young man of fourteen, always had been a hard worker and a diligent scholar. Now, Siegfried was getting near the age of 56, he too had lived a good life thus far.

As I stared out the window, pondering what the next few days would hold, a loud noise, like glass shattering, was heard from outside. Creeping out of bed, snatching the lantern and my trusty pocketknife, I rushed through the corridors of the house. I ran outside, holding the bright kerosene lamp and wondering what that noise was.

Walking toward the crypt, I started hearing strained breaths, and the sounds of moaning. I approached the crypt, hearing a watery, grotesque noise, I looked down. What I saw there scarred me for life; there, on the ground was a puddle of blood, crimson fluid, rippling underneath me. I followed the splatters of red, seeing a trail of the horrible mark of pain.

It lead down the stairs of the crypt, the gate was broken open, the glass of the door windows scattered across the ground. I followed the bloody passage, I thought to myself, "What could have possible left that trail of blood?"

My thoughts were interrupted by the bloodthirsty groaning coming from in front of me. I quickly glanced upward, "This can't be... is that...?"

Thank you for the feedback, I'm planning to combine all the chapters for the different acts after they're written, so sorry to leave you with the cliffhanger, but it should be done in a few days.
