After acquiring a bit of spending money and reading some reviews and such, I've narrowed my choices down to:

Red Steel 2 (with the MotionPlus dongle package)

Monster Hunter Tri (yes, with the Classic Controller Pro)

Both cost around the same, but are wildly different in terms of genre. Which do you think will last the longest and have the most replay value, considering I probably won't have the money to buy another game for the while?

Yeah, I was thinking 'bout Skyward. What's 3DS?

Anyone know if Red Steel 2 supports local multiplayer? I'm up for doing a sword duel with a few of my friends if it's possible.

Red Steel 2
It's weird, I had the exact same choice problem, and I went with RS2 and it's definitely better than I had even imagined.
Mostly because of the MotionPlus..

the 3DS is not a DS upgrade like the DSi, it's the next gen handheld console.

Think Gameboy -> Gameboy advanced

Well, I've really been much of a handheld gamer (expect for the iPod Touch, which I adore), so the 3DS is probably out the question.

I'm leaning a bit toward Red Steel 2 now, and I'll probably need a MotionPlus dongle anyway so I can get my sister Wii Sports Resort for her birthday.

Haha, people already know that Skyward Sword needs a MotionPlus to play and I didn't even know what it was about.

Well, I guess that's a reason to go for the Red Steel 2 + MP package. I'll scrap up the money to get SS when it comes out.

Do you have Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Mario Kart Wii? Those games are very awesome in my opinion. As to Red Steel 2 or Monster Hunter Tri, I haven't played either, but RS2 got a very good review from GameInformer.
