Yes, but a deeper reason is i believe we can pull it off, we have the players we just need to make them play for the love of the game and not the love of the paycheck.
Tge players have proven time and time agaoin they dont have the mental strength in them to do it. We need root and branch reform of the english game before we have a hope of winning anything. Itll be at least 20 years before we win anything, not just 2.
As for us British with have the premier league on the way. Come On Chelsea!

Although i agree with you, without moral support we really will NOT win a game for another 40 years, not just 20.
Take the Algeria game for instance, the crowds backing behind England was utter crap. However when we were against Slovenia we really gave moral support to the players, cheered throughout, but the problem lies between the players, none of them communicate. Our whole team is made out of Ronaldo's, Ego's which are only out to win it for themselves, we have lack of passing and none of our 'top' strikers ever even attempt to kick the ball until it's in the goalkeepers hands.
Fabio is the best coach we have had in a very long time, he got formations correct. I just think again down to moral support he probably really does not give them any. The past world cup we saw all the older players being used for the last time. Next world cup bring on the next generation, Theo Walcott yes please.
Wow, the 2010 one is now over, and we have to pick a winner now? =p I'd say Brazil will win it I guess, since I think its on there next one, so they get to the 2nd group stages!

Englands fans are the best in the world and have been for years, but we still havent won anything since 66. Moral support obviously cant be the reason. We had the most fans in south africa out of every foreign country, and yet still failed miserably.

The thing is, they only booed after the game. Also, you cant expect them to cheer when the players are doing so badly on the pitch. I agree the fans job is to lift the players, but they have to have something to shout about. Its a recipriocal relationship i think, and that day the players deserved to get booed. It was the worst england performance ive ever seen i think.

Capello was too intransigent. As good a track record he has, he made a hash of it. Playing gerrard on the left when he has never played well there, and sticking to 442 for the knockout when it clearly wasnt working. We should have had a system more like germanys, playing gerrard in the ozil role in behind defoe (rooney should have dropped after algeria) and had lampard pushed up with carrick and barry playing sweepers.

Agreed. But look at the players. They arent of great calibre. Walcott really hasnt flourished at arsenal despite early indicators. Again we need root and branch reform of not only the premier league but the academy system in this country, which is in a shocking state.
