Planet X
A story by: SirNoobalot

Dropship Zulu, 550 Hours
Task Force 571, 5th Space Marines
Private James Connor

Its been a long time in this shipâ¦. Nearly 3 years to be exact. Sergeant woke up screaming to get our kits ,armor, and mask. Why do we even need armor anyway? I thought it was just a routine reconaissance mission. Couldn't nearly be as bad as that mining post back on Xeron, lost Chubs, Fizz and back there. Dropping in at 610 hours... some research post to study the wildlife. why are we even here, helping some crazy scientists who canât help themselves. gotta go, getting ready for the drop.

Research Base Charlie, 750 Hours
Doesnât seem too bad here⦠looks like those 'rainforests' they call back in the Homeland⦠well, what it looked like in the picture book, itâs not there anymore. Came in on one of those Drop-pods. The older versions were better, not nearly as cramped! Probably those corporate bastards trying to save money. Well we landed on planet at 716 hours precisely, pretty rough landing though. As soon as our squad got out there was all kinds of noise: big machinery, the treads of the heavy tanks, voices, the old timers just sitting there laughing at us, and the truck loads of bodybags being loaded to be beamed back upsky⦠something doesnât feel right. As soon as we got into camp there was one HUGE sanitation facility... all had to undress and put all the equipment down for processing. They better not mix my baby up with some other punk's, Iâve had her ever since I joined. Donât remember much... bunch of men in yellow suits, liquids spraying all over the place, yells, mist.

Research base Charlie, 1200 hours

Got a chance to really 'see the country' as i call it. After sanitizing I got all my gear back, and lucky for them they didnât mix mine up, I could pick out from a pile a mile away. Went to the main living quarters, got to get settled in. so much noise and rushing, why can't we ever just walk without someone behind us screaming to get moving? Pretty decent living space compared to Xeron: nice cots, their crappy corporate pillows, clean sheets, SO much better than the ship's. some people complained of bloodstains on their sheets but luckily mine didn't have any I guess. Few more snobby vets walked by, called us 'fresh meat' and left. Sergeant was Furious and reported it to Command. Ha, like they could really care. I don't think sheâll ever realize how little they care about the common soldier...

nice story, but use word to write your story. So those question marks don't appear.

'The Brush', 1850 hours

Went out on patrol, already on not even the first day on-site! Really quiet out there; a relief from the chaos that is base. I still don't understand why we are even here if there is nothing wrong. Camped out of base, I guess no soft bed for me tonight, the hard, moist ground I am sure is better...it gets scary out here at night, bunch of things that sarge calls 'crickets' making a lot of noise. big animals too, kind of like the ones at the zoo back home.

' The Brush', 700 hours

Lost a man last night. Left camp while the watcher was dozing, never came back. Search team found 'em not long ago in a sinkhole. Fell in and slowly died of suffocation as the mud pulled him in and went into his mouth and lungs. What a terrible way to die... moving out, soon got to report the casualty to battalion. Sure,we'll get a new replacement, but it won't be easy for some. I didn't really know him, so I'm really not sure what to think of it. Whole companyâs moving to a new sector soon according to battalion. Some fleabitten swampland about 50 clicks (<< spelling????) north. i'm sure we're all just giddy about going.

Or notepad, maybe? Do you have notepad? I don't know if it works but I think it does.

Sector 59C, 1200 hours

I really wish i hadn't come here... it is so dam hot here, humid, all kinds of bugs flying around getting everyone sick with so many different alien diseases.ha, they're actually lucky if they die from it early. few people came and loaded all the sick on a truck and took em away. probably quarantine to experiment with the disease. already lost nearly 5 people to it. any god out there has really forsaken this place.

Sector 59C, 1500 hours

first contact! we were all out on patrol, like always, and then battalion told our platoon to scout an unknown area. nothing was wrong, just like the rest of this infested swamp. something grabbed scrappy, the MG front of me, and he fell into the murky water. after a lot of shouting and shooting, two others managed to pull Scrappy out of the depths. claled in for a medic. arrived very shortly, loaded him up, and drove away.

BANG!

we all knew what happened...

this is a nice update.

the only problem with a diary written story like this,

is that it makes for burst typing. (posting two paragraphs or other small amounts at a time)
it also means you can get repetetive and cliche, so far you havent, good job.
it also makes it so this will be a short story, with not much detail besides the authors point, and will not continue on for long. (due to thenature of most COMPLETELY and only written in diary form books, they are very short.)
