You're just about to go to sleep when BOOM!
you hear a loud bang outside and see a big flash of light. You go out back and see some sort of machine.
You go inside of it and determine it's a time machine of some sort. A voice prompts you to say when you want to go.
Where and when would you go?

I'd take an I pod back to 1945 to see what people'd say about it.

If you took an ipod to 1945, they would accuse you of being a German or Japanese spie... and they would shoot you.

Fine, to 1860.

Question, is the time machine a deLorean, or a Police phone box?

I would go back and kill my stepdad before he married my mom. I hate him so much.

I'm pretty sure if you mess with time travel, stuff goes bad.

I can't remember where I saw that... hmmm.

So you will hijack the leadership of Germany and have Hitler as your puppet?

I don't think he'd let himself become a puppet though. I expect someone to die.

I would.. err.. go back to when I was 13, and start that bit again, and listen in school instead of fuking up

Nah man you have the theorys all wrong.

The butterfly effect is
The butterfly effect is a common trope in fiction when presenting scenarios involving time travel and with "what if" scenarios where one storyline diverges at the moment of a seemingly minor event resulting in two significantly different outcomes.-Wiki

So if i interpret this correctly in life everything you do no matter how small there are 2 differnt possiable out comes and by changeing one out come it goes to the other.

Now a theory is if you go back in time and kill someone or something or do anything that wasnt done befor that action can have a drastic out come on the future.

Honestly, I would want to go back/forward in time to prevent the machine from ever being created. Time travel is a thing I believe would be too dangerous to mess around with. Even simple observation.

Of course, if I prevented it from happening.. Blah blah blah, time paradox, blah blah.

I would.. err.. go back to when I was 13, and start that bit again, and listen in school instead of fuking up

What I would have given for a second chance at so many things.. *sigh*
Personally, things are better now; I honestly wouldn't change them for the world. Besides, one can never be sure what might have come about if things were different.

The grandfather paradox is an example of why time travel isn't good.

Though in these whim scenarios, people simply ask where would you go if you could travel through time, when they should be asking...

"Where would you go if you could travel back and forth through time without any consequences?"

It's assumed that paradoxes won't exist, even though that assumption is incorrect.
