Okay, don't make fun of me. I haven't taken geometry in almost 15 years. But I know most of you are very familiar with it! So, I need your help!

My boss just called me and wanted to know the cubic feet in this object:

30 feet across, 5 feet wide, 5 inches in height.

What is the correct answer?

30x5 x5/12
=62.5 cubic feet.

12 inches in a foot bb.

I came up with 62.5 as well. But for some reason that doesn't seem right in my visualization.

How not?

30 ft by 5 ft = 150 ft
5 inches is ~ 1/2 ft

The answer should be close to 65 ft.

We here in New Zealand enjoy the benefits of the metric system too.

Gantic, that's twice you've eased my mind today. You deserve some sort of anti-sarcastic award today.

Side note, is there any place besides US of A that doesn't use metric?

Doesn't England use imperial?

I could be wrong though, lol.

After a search I can see that the United States, Burma and Liberia aren't working towards metrication. Some sources list the latter two as being metricated but I'm doubtful.. All three countries haven't officially adopted the metric system. The UK uses the Imperial system but the metrication process is ongoing.

LOL, I bet you still the milkman still comes to your house to deliver your milk and you put in the icebox, since the people with fridges couldn't master that.

never understood why people under 16 lacked the ability to use grammar correctly; and/or spell correctly. I mean even trying to construct a coherent sentence or in my case expecting a coherent sentence is a rare commodity.

l3rn 2 spellcheck noobs.
