well the parts of the gameplay is the same. for instance i think the movement of the player is the same. but it feels like a totally different game. so no its not just GTA western times
Red Ded Redemption IS GTA in the old western time... Its made by the same developer (Rockstar Games) and its suppose to be the same thing as GTA, but in the old western time.
I've seen a few vids on it and it looks like a completely different type of gameplay than GTA IV, so It's definitely it's own game, but it probably has some elements from GTA, which isn't a problem xD If I ever buy another console I'll definitely be buying RDR.
Red Dead Revolver and Red Dead Redemption are deffinatly there own games. but the developers are chickens. they dont like to step outside there own little box when it comes to game play. frustrates me cause all there games are the same
Wow everyone else said it was basiclly GTA but I knew that Rockstar games wanted a whole knew game with a epic campain. Also everything is so different like buildings places, not the whore house/saloon. But everything is different than GTA. It is just that GTA was a very sucsecful game that people thought they were doing a GTA in Western Times but NO! They wanted a knew game away from GTA and I think Red Dead Redemption is going to be the best game of the year or month.
Many things are simmilar in the two games. Both are open world, controls are very simmilar, story progression is the same, online gameplay is the same. But for some reason I can't explain I would consider Red Dead its own game. You just have to play both games to understand.
The two games may share the same controls and sandbox feel, but with Redemption's side quests / random encounters / setting / and main campaign, it's definitely it's own experience.
