Did I miss something? What happened to kids making their own halloween costumes? And why are there christmas adverts before halloween is even begun? Am I going comatose for days on end or are thing just f***ed up?
Yeah, my calendar is all messed up now. I didn't have enough time to get hyped up about Halloween, so it's probably going to be boring now D:, and I really don't care about Thanksgiving anyway (unless I go see my family in Pennsylvannia). Also, I celebrate Christmas, but I think it really kills it when people start putting out more things for Christmas than they do on Halloween in SEPTEMBER!!! By the time Christmas comes around, I want summer because I was excited for Christmas months before, and I get bored with it...just like with Halloween.
Nope, I've been aware of the change. You grow up and the people you know grow up and Halloween becomes less fun or halloweeny. Commercialization of holidays might factor in for the Christmas adverts.
Halloween means cheap candy the week after, for me.
Like every holiday in America, Halloween has fallen into the iron hands of capitalism.
Out of all the fall/Christmas holidays, I'd have to say Halloween is my least favorite. Ever since I was about 13, I never again saw Halloween as what it once was when I was a child.
Christmas, of course, was always great, but I'd have to say Thanksgiving is my favorite of the three. Most of the stuff I've received for Christmas over the years has been useless junk. I only like it because Christmas spirit is like nothing else you could possibly experience. But I'd rather eat as much as I can to celebrate my wonderful country than to receive a bunch of useless stuff I don't need to celebrate the birth of someone whose existence I'm not entirely sure of.
I've only ever celebrated Halloween once. I will probably never do so again. I also only celebrated Thanksgiving once. I love feasts to be honest.
I've always celebrated Christmas.. mainly with a feast that would normally be expected with Thanksgiving. I'm not American. I never quite received much when it comes to presents so the food was what I looked forward to.
I wasn't much for Halloween until I was with my lady. She loves to decorate for each season and I've really grown to love it. She also LOOOOVEEESSSS Halloween. I think we have more horror films than anything else. We bought the entire series of Nightmare on Elm Street and we're camping out in the living room all weekend. I'm excited.
HALLOWEEN DOESN'T START TILL FRANK'S B-DAY STARTS.
Also, it's kinda ironic that my name is Freakenstein named after Frankenstein, who is an iconic Halloween character, and that my B-day is a day before Halloween....
Oh and the thing about people not making Halloween costumes anymore? It's either American laziness, or it's just cheaper to buy them. I for one am going to be a ninja this year. Like, true ninja. Real outfit and everything. I've been a ninja with the same outfit for 5 years straight.
My grandfather was born on Halloween so for me it's always been this big party, and when I stopped going trick or treating myself I switched to handing the candy out. Though with my grandfather gone Halloween just hasn't been the same.
halloween got killed by the US gov to make kids lose weight aparrently 1n out of 3 american children are fat so yup if you live in the US thats what happened dead killed by Michelle Obama and dentistes grrrrrrrrr and most kids have braces now and yes ather you went comatose
