I have recently played Exit Path and I don't see what the hype is about. It's a boring game where you run with a little blue guy. To me it seemed repetitive and pointless, no strategy or overall theme. Can someone please tell me why the game is so good, or post reasons why you don't like it.
I didn't like the game that much the first time I played. The second time I realized that for a racing game, the controls worked very well. The sense of speed the game gives you, especially when using flow is nice too. There are a nice set of achievements and signs to collect. Multilayer is fun and it has a nice leveling system.
What I didn't like is that the uniplayer game seems to be going in to direction. One direction is a game of speed with light obstacles (like a Sonic game, some platforming but a lot of running fast.) But, then the last 5 or so levels become tedious platformer levels with relatively high level of difficult (although not nearly as difficult as some platforming games.)
What bothers me the most is the mimicking of Portal and the cliche story line (Think "Big Bother is watching you" George Orwell "1984" The government is bad cliche deal. And then the man makes his own freedom stuff.)
- There is some entity watching your every move (The Goverment signs in Exit Path draw a Parallel to GLaDOS). At least GLaDOS was funny, here the signs seem a bit cliche (The good old rip on Big Government and overly codified government/corporate laws/regulations.)
- The way you start of by being given some ID number just like a Test Subject Number in Portal (Cliche as well).
-"The freedom is a lie go this way" writing on the sign in "Exit Path" is really similar to the writing you see on the walls near the end of "Portal" where they say, "The cake is a lie." and point you in the proper direction.
-The level where you transition from the stadium to the outside is just like when you transition from the the Test Subject area to the restricted area's in Portal. (You character is supposed go into some incinerator in portal and there is GLaDOS is telling you that is where the cake is put you jump off the platform and go somewhere else. In Exit Path you are told the freedom is to go into the circular saws but you jump off to go outside.)
That's what bothered me because it tries to do what Portal did, but doesn't hit the mark with the humor and what not. It looked less like a tribute to Portal and more of a rip off the story line to it instead.
well i liked the idea of the story. there is a reason for cliches and that reason is that it works. i liked the message and i think that hummor would ruin that. cliches are always coming back again BECAUSE people enjoy them.

True, but after a certain point it gets boring. Portal and Exit Path use a similar premise. Some entity (GLaDOS in Portal and THe Government in Exit Path) is watching you and is hampering your freedom and telling you what to do. Portal takes the old cliche of "big bad government is watching everything you do" and does something unique with it (GLaDOS etc.). Exit path could have done something unique a twist maybe were you end up going back to your bed at the end of the game, something. You can reuse and idea or premsie, but when it becomes cliche vary it up a little.

I wasn't saying the game should have had humor, but the game appears to have taken from Portal but removed the humor and it doesn't work. The game should have used a different plot mechanism.
whassya want? there are no original plots out there anymore. besides, its just a flash game. how deep do u want the story to be? geez.
I understand, they are just flash games, but if your going to share so many plot elements with Portal due Portal a service... make the plot less cliche, pleeeease
The second time I played it though I realized that it is fun. the controls work great and you really get a nice sense of speed.
your saying your the best but to say the truth i never raced you and no one ever mentioned you before... have you actually ever raced those we put in the top 5 or 10?
