why are so many people saying this when it has worse accuracy

Ak47 is cheaper and more reliable because you can literally bury it and pull it out a few days later and fire it. I think ak47 would be better IRL but in games I prefer cod4

My fave for Cod:BO is the AK-47. It's just an all around great gun to use, and one of my fave assault rifles. And it's in almost every game too.

m16 was made of plastic from Matel (yeah the guys that make toys for kids)

1: Where's your source for that?

2: The outside is plastic, the internals are metal.

3: Plastic and metal is lighter than wood and metal.

4: I don't think Matel makes carbon fiber (plastic that's as durable as metal, only lighter), anyway.

5: Even if they did, that means the the original model came from the U.S., entirely, just like all of our guns besides the SCAR and that's because Europe chipped in for the design.

actually in real life or in videogames you shouldn't confuse AK47 with AK74 which is far better than M 16 and rivalling even the M4 Carbine.

Anyway you can't really tell which is better in videogames. Most present m 16 as better but that is also too old.

As The russian military now officialy uses AK 74's, the united states military uses M4 carbines. So that question is mostly based on CoD Black Ops or other games set in the past.

@Doombreed:

Both M16 and AK47 are still being used. And since those are mostly used in video games set in the past, isn't sort of a given that we're talking about video games set in the past?

M16 is old? The AK47 has got exactly a decade on the M16.

that's what i say. AK47 is 10 years older, but M16 is also too old. I told you, both M16 and AK47 are getting phased out, being replaced by the M4 Carbine and the AK 74. M16 and AK 47 are not the ones they were in the past, with America and Russia reducing the production (as now they don't use these weapons themselves), these will start getting phased out globally. Being Replaced by newer ones even in third world countries. That's why they are present to games like Black Ops set in the past mostly.

Then what was the point of your previous post? We all know this, so why say it?

Probably because I was answering to "someone" who at first didn't seem like he knew it. (no offense really! It just seemed that way).

besides, in my previous post, i say that it may still be in use but since the two main producers are phasing them out, they will soon not be.

Pros of M16: 5.56 NATO has power at long range.
Burst fire conserves ammo
Very accurate
Cons: Burst fire isn't very good in close quarters.
Pros Of AK-47: 7.62x39 has more power at close to medium.
In game, is fully automatic, even thought in real life it's semi-automatic
It's made by Avtomat Kalashnikov, which is beast.
Cons:Less accurate
Loses power over distance.

My preference? The M16. I have a Navy issue M16 from the 70's, when it could cycle from semi, to fully automatic. Wait, we're talking about real guns, right?

Well, in black ops, the M16 is my preference because of the sights. That, and all I need is three shots.
