Not really. There's a high chance that the zombie will scratch or bite you and then you will be infected. And well after that, your screwed.
Just use guns and try to avoid the zombies and you're all good. Also carry a big knife or sword around in-case it turns out to be close combat.
My favorite zombie fighting weapon in would have to be a shotgun or machine guns. Anything really in Resident Evil 5. As long as you aim for the head and try not to miss you're fine.
omg yeah thats what im implying that you have a close range weapon god are ppl just that um whats the word um dont tell me ill think of it oh yeah blunt with what ppl say
i agree with both of you. now the trench spike is an amazing melee weapon. the problem with a shotgun is that its heavy enough to be a primary weapon. but it lacks in range so to carry a rifle, and a shotgun, might be too heavy.

i doubt scratches would infect you unless the slobbered in it
usually it's blood/saliva in open wounds that infect

'
you don't need to aim for the head, theres always the disable the zombie method
like it's not gonna last with a large hole in the chest or no arms
chainsaw just attracts other zombies, because of the noise, and its hard to cleanly destroy the brain. and if pieces of flesh hit open wounds, you would become infected.
