I'm a fairly new member here. Been around for about a month I'd say. I haven't actually been posting much on the forums but I've been more playing games and making comments now and then.
Anyway, I understand that short posts are AGAINST THE RULES. And thankfully I've now seen that there is a little message in the Short Comments section saying that members making short posts will have their posts regarded as spam and will be dealt with which brings me onto my point of reporting.
I see in the Pinned Topics that we should/can report when a member breaks a rule. Obvious moments would be when a member is flaming someone or posting "ugf;scuiosdgfuif" type posts. But what about members making short posts? Should we still report those too?
I mean now looking at the actual forum, there aren't many short posts to report, BUT, go towards the game comments, and virtually every game is FLOODED with short posts. Now I mean, if I have the time, I can easily go off reporting each and every one of them. But my question is, would us doing that help you or would you rather that we do not report short posts from there considering that it is such a regular occurence anyway? Or now that you've made it clear that members should not make short posts, would you appreciate it and would it be helpful if we reported those short posts?
Thanks (And I apologise in advance for any grammatical errors or if anything doesn't make sense as I can not edit my post.)
But what about members making short posts? Should we still report those too?
The best advice I can give you to decide if a comment or post should be reported, is by using your common sense, this is definitely the best way to decide.
But my question is, would us doing that help you or would you rather that we do not report short posts from there considering that it is such a regular occurence anyway?
I'm obviously not from the AG staff, but I highly doubt they will think you are doing something wrong by reporting comments/post that you find inappropriate or against the rules.
I believe when he is saying "to report" he is referring "to flag".
Yes I was. Sorry if I wasn't clear about that
Anyway, the reason I was asking is because some forums take things seriously whereas others donât. One forum that Iâm on is very strict when it comes to spam/short posts so we as members are encouraged to report these. However, Armor Games may not be as strict and may not be too concerned about it and may prefer that we do not go to the extent of flagging such minor offences and rather only use the report function for abuse or severe rule-breaking instead.
Anyway, it's perhaps something not worth fussing over too much.
When the comments in question are just short posts that aren't putting forth much effort into their "feedback" for the game, such as useless posts or opinions that doesn't offer a reason, then it's best to flag the comment and move on.
However, if you see a pattern in the feedback, such as the same user posting the same nonsense, consecutively in the same game or same comments in different games, or even posting effortless posts in any game multiple times, then it is best to report that user to a mod ASAP so they can nip the problem in the bud.
Same goes for advertising users, referring users (those that give out MMO referrals and other things), trolling/flaming users, etc. These comments right here need to be reported ASAP as well.
If they are just normal spam like in the first paragraph, then you just need to flag it. It's nothing too serious to be reported. If we reported every user that gave out examples like that, the mods will never get anything done. They also couldn't tell the difference between a standard class-C spammer from a Holy-Crap-MODS-HELP class-A spammer, unless you report to them otherwise.
So normal spam, flag; bad and consecutive spam report.
