hello there, Im DV, Ive been a huge sci-fi fan for the last three years and after reading a lot of sci-fi writing I want to see YOUR writings of sci-fi
to win this contest you need to write a short, sci fi story (or if your confident in your creativity try to make some sci-fi poems). I will be judging and the deadline is 12/24/2010 (tell me if you need more time), get your inner sci-fi geek to work and get writing!
here are some suggestions for themes:
steampunk or alternate history: replacing history with a different history and telling what happened then, most times it concludes some kind of change in technology in that time (for example planes jets already existing in 1814)
classic sci-fi: space, its vast and there is a lot of civilizations in it, this is the science fiction that everybody knows and lives
post apocalyptic: stuff (earth at most stories) was almost completley destroyed and you tell what happened after that, (fallout games for example)
far future: millions of years in the future is as far as the end of the universe for us, but writers still write stories about what happens then.
time travel fiction: time travel, alternate dimensions, all that good stuff (doctor who for example)
there are tons of more genres of sci-fi. Just write!
tip: it is said that every sci-fi novel ever written is based on a question: "what would happen if....", think about that, it may help you.
