This just keeps getting cooler and cooler. Someone MUST use this trick in a backup character, if not now. (Heck, I'll do it with my Trickster.)
Snivy is the best
Each of the starters have one cool thing that makes them outclass most opponents a CPU throws at you. Snivy is a bit of a late bloomer (Coil is only learned in the 40s IIRC) but until then his stats, particualrly his godly speed, should win out. Tepig gets Heat Crash and a bunch of other hard-hitting physical moves, and Oshie gets the best stat spread, with solid numbers in everything.
Of course, if we start talking about competitive play, it gets waaay more complicated than that. Snivy in particular has a gimmick strategy that was very hyped up at the time but people have learned how to counter it.
