You all go to the town hall, where you see the head clerics of each faith(Jozan Silverheart for Lathander, Aramil Amastacia for Corellon Larethian, and Lisilsa Morningstar for Pelor), the mayor(Siarona Ianthe), the captain of the guard(Deric Dragonsbane), and a lot of other people. "Mayor," Captain Dragonsbane stands almost immediately after everyone arrives, "we should discuss the murders." "Indeed," Mayor Ianthe concurs. "So what can you tell us?" "There have been three victims thus far; Verna Padfoot, a halfling tailor, Kasomar Urthadar, a human hunter, and Gimble Garrick, a gnome carpenter," Captain Dragonsbane informs everyone. "Well, do we have any leads on who may have murdered them?" the mayor asks. "I do," Cleric Silverheart says, standing. "I believe that the murderers were affected by some kind of curse, or perhaps something in our water supply that drove them to madness." "Interesting," Mayor Ianthe replies. "And what evidence do you have to back up these claims?" "None yet," Cleric Silverheart replies, "but if we could just send an expedition of city guards into the maintenance system for the well-" "Not possible," Captain Dragonsbane shoots down Silverheart's idea instantly. "We have our hands full just keeping the city safe, I can't spare a single soldier." "I'm afraid that without any evidence, I cannot support this theory," Mayor Ianthe says. "What about the adventurers sent here from Baldur's Gate? Perhaps they could investigate the well for us," suggests Cleric Aramil. Everyone turns to you guys.
"Noble of you, elf, but we have not been into that tunnel system for a long time," Captain Dragonsbane says. "Who knows what inhabits it now? It would be unwise for you to go alone."
