You're 12, aren't you? Who taught you 1st/2nd ed, your dad? Cause I learned on 3rd ed first, cause my dad was a veteran player who got rid of all his original books and thought it would be easier to learn on a newer system. I have played all editions, but I have only DM'd 3.5, unfortunately... Oh, I also played "Hero Quest", ever hear of it?
Hey loco, I got a list of "Recommended" Game stores in Southern Cali, check it out.(btw, do you know of a "small" town named San Jacinto?)
The Trick Shop 28545 Felix Valdez #B-3, Temecula, CA 92590 (951) 506-0664 â(I know it doesn't sound like a game store, but trust me, these guys carry everything, well, I think this is the right store, I remember there being a bunch of gag stuff up front with all the good stuff a little further back...)
Adventures Guild of Riverside 7000 Indiana Ave. Suite 114, Riverside, CA 92506-4166 (951) 782-9333 â(These guys carry a lot of Warhammer 40k, but they carry other stuff too. They usually host tournaments and the like, but the guys I used to know where kinda stingy about their gaming, if you know what I mean)
Premier Gaming Solutions Inc 23333 Soboba Road, San Jacinto, CA 92583 (951) 654-5520 â(Don't know much about this one, cropped up after my time, but it's pretty close to Menifee, so Gamer's Remorse here...)
Pair a Dice Games 2020 Hacienda Drive, Vista, CA 92081 (760) 940-0139 â(Well, I've been here a couple of times, but I don't really remember it that well, just that my dad had an issue with the owner once or something...)
Game Empire 7051 Clairemont Mesa Blvd #306, San Diego, CA 92111 (858) 576-1525 â(These guys are good, but they usually carry a limited amount of certain types of games, I honestly don't remember exactly what they carry, but it was one of the regular places I checked for something new...)
Game Towne 3954 Harney Street, San Diego, CA 92110 (619) 291-1666 â(This one is pretty far away, but I would recommend this one the highest! These guys have EVERYTHING! they carry all kinds of interesting things, and are always hosting awesome tourneys for youths between 8-16. There are also a lot of interesting people who are regulars there, usually talking about memorable D&D games or funny characters)
Just remember, before you take what I said at face value, I have not been a regular of these stores in about 6 years, so again I say, Gamer's Remorse...

Yep. His books are ancient, he still has them, actually. He told me about that Mormon church uproar over the cover of the PH, rofl. And I cannot really say that I have DM'd 2.0 or 1.0 either, because the one time that I did, it was the first time I had ever heard of Dungeons and Dragons, and my babysitter and his friends needed a DM. I had no idea what I was doing and basically just randomly gave them a bunch of scenarios. It actually turned out better than you would think. But still, I don't think it qualifies as actual DM'ing, lol. Whenever I played with my dad, he would always DM because I hadn't really the necessary patience.
Oh, I also played "Hero Quest", ever hear of it?
I might have heard of it but I've never played it.
I realized that my dad actually has the 1st Ed. Cover of the Player's Handbook, the one with the thieves scaling up that big demon statue to steal its eye-gem. His Monster Manual is the one with the light blue cover and the centaur and unicorn, which means it's pretty ancient too. Also; read these 3 articles, and never stop laughing at the Church. Ever.
Additionally, male characters in the game often try to seduce female characters; and references abound to things like venereal disease and satyriasis (a male condition of permanent sexual arousal). Can these sorts of things be appropriate for Christians or even for any decent person of whatever faith?
