I was thinking of writing an apocalypse story, and thought: Why not make a zombie apocolypse story? And not just a 3 page story, I mean like an actual book. So... feel free to rate my work as I post bits here and there in this forum, but please don't troll or anything. As this is my first major writing, I wouldn't mind some CONSTRUCTIVE critiscism.

The Zombies, Book One: Emergence

Prologue

It started in Germany. The country had not yet accepted its defeats in World War 1 or 2. It was going to get revenge on the people who dared to stand up against Germany. It started with tests. Biochemical Weapons tests. Germany was producing biochemical weapons to use against her enemies. But Germanyâs scientists took little notice in one small error that would bring disaster to the entire world. And now weâre the ones that have to fix it.

The scientists of Germany were producing the weapons in a secured lab in the very heart of Germany called Der Ort des Seiges, which means The Place of Victory. It was completely secure against anything the entire outside world could throw at it. It could withstand natural disasters, enemy armies, and much more. Or so they thought.

There was one day, when everything went wrong. One of the scientists had contracted a minor cold without noticing, and while producing the formulas to make the weapons, the virus traveled through the air he breathed into the biochemical substance. The reaction the virus had with the biochemical was tremendous. The weapon exploded on the spot, instantly affecting everyone inside. Two thousand people were affected by their own bomb. The chemical normally would have killed them, but the virus of the cold changed the chemicals. They transformed the people into zombies. And the zombies broke loose.

Half of Germany was infected that day. The rest of it was gone in a week. Every country world wide was told of the crisis and told to use all of their military strength to defend from the zombies. Bur Russia was experiencing a major power outage. Before the news could reach them, Russia was infected. Most of Russia evacuated, along with most of the military. Anyone who could immediately came to America or Canada, farthest away from the plague.

Then America took action. With the help of Russian, British, French, Canadian, Mexican, African, Middle-Eastern, and some remaining German forces, they formed an alliance and stationed themselves in China, to prevent the zombies from affecting the three billion citizens there. The zombies were relentless, running full on into the armies. The army was overconfident, knowing that they had the best technology, and best army, ever made in the history of the world.

But overconfidence is the death of an army.

The army was ripped apart. Even with all the technology and mass weaponry the world army possessed, the zombies still had one advantage that in the end, gave them the win. Sheer numbers. Not only did the zombies infect other people, they also reproduced like mad. The world was doomed. Or at least it was, until an elite group of seven brave soldiers from around the world were dispatched to end the plague. By going to the lab in Germany, and finding the bomb remnants, and reversing the affect.

Those seven heroesâ lives would change forever. They would never be the same again, they knew that full well. But it would not stop them from going. Arnold Bolinae, an ex-con and French in origin, was the first to volunteer. Jacob and Allen Smith were the second and third. Jacob and Allen had been serving in the army since they were fresh out of high school, and were expert soldiers. They were the American soldiers who would soon be praised for their services, only even more so this time. Jaime and Alyssa Bine were sisters who grew up in the woods of Canada, and they were not about to let Canada fall because of undead freaks. They had been raised in the woods, and were capable of fending off a mother bear and her cub with their bare hands. Dimitri Chzov was a Russian scientist who had been part of the Russian army for 20 years before becoming a scientist. He too, was working on biochemical weapons before the plague. He vowed to destroy Germany and the zombie plague, even if it caused him to lose his life. Henry Watson was the final to volunteer, and had a score to settle with the zombies, as they killed his entire family. This group succeeded in their task, but afterward, they were never heard from again.

This is their story.

Very good introduction to the story. Remember that certain symbols don't show up on AG, and copying and pasting from word also results in those weird symbols.
The only thing I could think of criticizing is zombies reproducing. Zombies are undead creatures, so they really can't reproduce.

And RedLlama, please stop spaming everywhere.

Some of the best material I've seen on here for a while... Prose-wise.

Very nicely developed idea and execution of it. Some minor errors, but very nice. Keep writing.
