The wind was rushing past my head as I ran through the forest, something was chasing me, and I was unarmed. I had left all of my equipment back at the camp and I was making a mad dash just to keep myself alive. I kept running, and running, and running, until I saw a clearing in the forest, it was the camp area! I thought to myself, "Everything's going to be alright, I just have to get my equipment and it'll be a piece of cake!" but suddenly, I heard the sound of a bow being drawn, next thing I knew, an arrow was embedded in my left leg, just slightly above my knee, the pain was excruciating, but I knew I couldn't stop running. I ran, and ran and finally, I came into the the clearing. I could see my sword in it's sheath propped up against the rest of my stuff against a tent. I heard more arrows being drawn, and I quickly dived out of the way and into my pile of stuff, about 3 arrows whizzed past me and they probably would have killed me too. I grabbed my sword sheath and fumbled a bit, almost dropping it, but I knew it wasn't the time to be fooling around. I drew my sword, which was made of iron and measured 4 feet. I went into a battle stance to prepare for the onslaught, I watched as two... four... six goblin emerged from the clearing. They were armed with swords, axes, and all had bows and quivers on their backs, they looked around, they didn't seem to be familiar with this particular area, but as soon as they met my eyes, confusion was replaced with battle lust. One of them charged at me and swung it's axe downwards, but I sidestepped the blow and lopped the goblin's head off, next, two of them rushed me and tried to flank me, alas, I was quicker and stabbed the one attempting to get behind me in the chest and slashed my sword upwards, tearing through it's body like paper. I turned around and saw the other one there in-front of my face, ready to strike me, but I quickly reacted and punched it with my left fist and followed up with a knee to the gut which sent it reeling back in pain, enough time for me to perform the final blow. Two more attacked me, with the other trying to fire arrows at me. I met the first goblin's blow with a parry and pushed it away, the other saw an opening and lunged at me, but I expertly blocked the blow and shoved the goblin away as well. The goblin at the back was drawing it's bow, so I knew I had to act quick. I embedded my sword into the ground and spun around it while keeping a tight grip on the handle, the momentum sent me spinning and I kicked both in the faces so hard, I could hear the breaking of bones as they tumbled to the ground. The other was still aiming, but it finally locked on to me and let the arrow fly through the air. I noted how it was aimed at my head, and I quickly ducked under the projectile and made a rush for the goblin. It raised it's bow in defense, but I wasn't aiming anywhere near where it held it, I darted to the side and stabbed it under the left armpit where the heart should be and I twisted my sword. A few seconds later, it was dead. I observed the battlefield and paced around the dead bodies, giving them a few kicks just to ensure that they were dead. Then, like any right-minded adventurer would do, I looted them. But they didn't have anything good on them except for mediocre weapons, so I left the bodies there so that mother nature could reclaim them and set off.
I kept walking through the forest until I came across a stream. I sat down by the bank of the stream and I felt a sudden pain near my thigh. I looked down at my leg and saw the same arrow that had stricken me in the forest, I had completely forgotten about it! I cut off the arrow head and the tail, then I pulled the shaft out of my wound. It was painful, very painful, but I was used to pain being an adventurer and all. I threw the arrow parts to the ground and cleansed my wound with the water from the stream. I was also feeling thirsty, so I leaned in a bit further, cupped my hands, and took a few sips of water. I retrieved my belongings and carefully crossed the stream and continued my journey. As I walked through the forest I felt like hours had passed until I found a dirt road, this was my ticket to civilization. I kept walking forward until I found a crossroad. I looked around for a sign and saw it standing there near the middle of the road. I went up to it and read it, it said, "Silverdell, 20km north". I could probably get there in 3 to 4 hours, so I decided to do so. I walked for about an hour or so until I heard a scream and the clashing of weapons, I quickly ran towards the noise and found a merchant caravan being attacked by a band of 4 bandits, the only person armed in the caravan was a man wielding a sword, I examined his body and he had cuts and bruises everywhere, he probably wouldn't last any longer, so I unsheathed my sword and jumped into the battle. The bandits probably didn't notice me, because I stabbed one in the gut and kicked him to the ground, although that probably got me their attention since they all began to turn on me. The first one came at me with a double-bladed axe, he swung it at me in a vertical motion, but like I did with the goblins, I sidestepped it, I still got a scrape though. Once I was at his side, I swung my sword horizontally and almost cut his torso in half. Another of the bandits rushed me with a war hammer. The bandit swung it downwards and I narrowly dodged the blow that would've crushed my skull. I darted to his side, but he quickly turned and swung it at the left side of my chest which sent me tumbling to the ground, I felt like a few ribs broke, but I had to continue the fight. I got up and lopped his head off, finally, the other bandit decided to charge me, but I wasn't going to let him get close. I placed the severed head near my foot and kicked it at him with all I've got, it hit him square in the chest and sent him tumbling a few feet. He got up, but he quickly scampered away as he knew he was no match for me. I went up to the person wielding the sword and asked if he was okay, he looked at me with awe in his eyes and said, "T-that was amazing! How can we repay you?" I merely replied that a good deed done is payment enough, I was about to leave, but he grabbed my arm and said, "Are you going to Silverdell? We are going there as well, the least we can do is give you a ride." A ride seemed nice, so I simply nodded and got on the caravan, we would be there the next hour.
