I would definitely go for the XBOX. Who cares if the online costs money, its worth it and has better quality. Xbox has better controllers than Ps3. The graphics are straight down towards XBOX. So its XBOX from me.

Read my review here.

After reading that, I'm sure that you can choose for yourself.

If you have an HD tv, then I suggest Ps2.

Make a list of exclusive games you want for each. Get the one with the bigger list. If you only want mulit-platform games, get the cheaper one.

Problem solved.

pS3 free online and comes with a controller charger (and the controllers stay charged a goooood amount of time) has AWESOME exclusives like little big planet and infamous and theres like a premium option like deal called playstation PLUS..you get discounts on stuff (and like ps1 classics you get alot of them for free with it) and you get exclusive PLUS stuff they regular ps3 users dont get and from the amount of time i had xbox live and the time i had my ps3 i havent seen that many little kids like i did on xbox 360

Both the Xbox and PS3 are great systems. Which one you buy really depends.

Do you plan on playing with friends you know personally? If so, which system do most of them play?

How much money do you plan on spending? Do you mind paying 5 dollars a month? (in all honesty, this is very cheap)

What do you plan on using your system for other than gaming? Do you plan on using it to watch movies and listen to music? How important is Blueray to you?

What games do you plan on buying? Any exclusives? Which systems are they for?

NoNamec68 asks all the right questions, but one important thing he/she forgot is which system are you most comfortable with and which is more fimiliar.

Most likely you have played one of the systems, so which-ever one you feel you can work with (as in; Menu layout, On-line capabilities, and controller use)

If quality matters to you, I believe the PS3 has a better process of running games, but it also very much depends on the game itself.

There are many great games for both systems, so I would again agree with NoNameC68. Whatever system your friends have (saying you get On-line) will make your decision for you.

Xbox has better controllers than Ps3.

deffinatly not, ps3 controllers are wireless dualshock controllers that dont run on batteries, and also have motion censors in them.

The graphics are straight down towards XBOX.

also not true, the ps3 runs blueray discs which the xbox does not. and the only reason why the graphics are even up for argument is for a nonvalid reason. the reason being that when games come out for both xbox AND ps3, the games are coded for xbox first because the ps3 blueray disc is alot harder to code for.

xbox doesnt have anything th ps3 doesnt have when it comes to technical system capabilities. infact ps3 has more (free internet, internet broswer, etc.)

now. more people do infact have an xbox. ps3 seems to be a bit mroe expensive too.

Xbox 360 has backwards compatibility.
ps3 seems to be a bit mroe expensive too.

The Xbox 360 250Gb cost 299.99
The PS3 160GB cost 299.99

A bit, but you get many more features. And if you need space then you can go to Best Buy and get a hard drive disk that costs about $100-200 with 500GB space.

Depends on what you're looking for. Honestly I absolutely LOATHE ps3 controllers and also I don't like the userface when not playing games, etc. it's only an opinion though. Also look at the games which are exclusive to that console and pick which you like best out of them.

@GhostOfMatrix The 250 gig PS3 is $299.99, plus you can get a 320 gig(Which ISN'T available for the Xbox) for $329.99. Controllers aren't an Issue, because for about 10 bucks more on both systems you can get one customized like the other systems. PS3 has a lot more and better exclusives. If you absolutely must have Halo, then go with the Xbox, If you want good games such as Killzone, Infamous, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, God of War,KH3(Eventually),Gran Turismo, MAG, Twisted Metal, etc then get the PS3. And as for Xbox Live being better than PSN, it all depends on your connection, Live is not better than PSN, and PSN is not better than Live(Unless you take into account that its free).

The 250 gig PS3 is $299.99

I checked gamestop.com and walmart.com and they don't have a 250 GB PS3.
They have 160 GB for $299.99 and a 320 GB for $349.99.
PS3 has a lot more and better exclusives.

That's not a fact, it's your opinion. It varies for the individual.
