A few people wanted me to remake this so here is the first part/chapter though it isn't long enough to be considered a chapter. Let me know what you think either here or on my profile. I also need a few more characters if you want in leave a message on my profile.
Black clouds gathered over the city of Drendu and rain began to fall to the Earth as Joey 6855 clambered inside an abandoned and war torn building. The metal walls were riddled with bullet holes, and the hole through which he had entered was nothing more than a gaping wound from a tank shell. He switched his sight to thermal and scanned the building, no heat signatures detected. And then he switched to night vision.
The building was open and covered in debris, the fighting here had been intense but had happened many weeks ago. This building had been some sort of medical center. There were over-turned beds and monitors lying scattered on the floor, the bodies of their patients close by. Being a robot Joey could not smell the two week old corpses, nor did he have any compassion for them either. He was programed to discern ally from enemy and kill accoridngly.
He looked at the touch screen pad attached to his left arm. Bright red letters flashed across the orange background, his battery was running low. He'd been running on it for over two weeks without a charge. His master usually charged him and his fellow robots every week but the enemy forces had been ambushing them so frequently that they had lacked the time to set up the charging station.
He pressed a button on the cracked screen and brought up his memory log and then scrolled down the list until he reached the newest entry. Each robots memeory log was set to record every moment from charge to charge in 2 hour intervals. He held his arm up toward an intact wall and pressed the first two hour interval. Light began to shoot from his metal arm and a hologram appeared before him.
He was watching himself and other robots of his make set up a charging station he could hear his masters voice coming from somewhere behind him telling them to hurry, that there was no telling when the Armorians would come back for another attack. Then the hologram went static, Joey picked the next memory and it was the same except the entire section was static. He exited his memory log and pushed another series of buttons. A circular flying probe detached itself from his chest, and a small red orb at its core began to flash. The probe circled him several times the orb at its center changing from red, to blue, to green. It beeped signaling it had finshed. And in a monotone female voice it said. "Full body diagnostic scan shows signs of severe damage to the central core. Most likely cause of such damage would be from an EMP. Scans also show that your memory logs are blank, which suggests a total loss of power the only possible explanation for this would be an EMP as well. Also this damage could be repaired manually but would require you to be at full power."
The probe returned to its place in Joeys chest and the light turned back to red. He entered a code on the pad. He was overwriting his internal security systems so that he could send a distress signal to all frequencies within a ten mile radius of him. If he waited for his system to shut down due to lack of power he would have to wait another forty eight hours before his internal distress beacon would activate. The femal voice said. "Distress signal activated." He then walked back farther into the room and cleared the rubble from the ground. He then picked up one of the over-turned beds placing right side up on the clear floor. He climbed up onto the bed. He pressed two buttons on his touch screen arm. The female voice said. "Manual power down active, system will shut down in ten, nine, eight, seven........four.......two..one....system shutting down."
