I liked rome total war with the fire pigs but medieval total war two seems to be better mainly because graphics I love the games but find myself playing on them for hours at a time then getting bored of it for a few weeks
I haven't played all the games so my opinion may not be fully justified, but Rome was awesome.
But now i can't go passed shogun 2, not just because it is the newest but some of the features, especially the new style multiplayer, are truly superb.
i played Rome total war for 3 weeks. then switched to medieval 1 and 2. then Napoleon and just 20 min ago i beated the Shogun 2 Long campaign so i am the shogun of japan Not you. Me
iv always been a major total war fan, heck iv played from shogun all the way to mtw2 kingdoms, although sadly a bad pc prevents me from running empire onwards
iv clocked up 300+hours on rome, 350+hours on mtw2 and iv already got 50+hours on kingdoms, and iv only finished one of the campaigns once so yeah im a bit obsessed
i thought mtw2 was better, mainly because the expansion was awesome that and iv always liked the medieval era rome was still an immense game though, just medieval total war is more polished i just wished they could have fixed the ai!!! there ok in battles (exept sieges) but they continuosly build poor armies of militia or entire artillery armies!! theres only been one our two times were an ai has actually built a good army to face me (2 generals, heavy cavalry, armoured seargents,dismounted knights, crossbows the works) which it then proceeded to destroy by sending them aginst fortresses with half an army garrison
Yes is shogun the AI isnt so good to.they attack me with à army of 7 units. I defeat them. And if i attack them they have yari ashiguru ( weakest unit).
